  1. The destructive things are happening right now at the club. Here it is only the obvious reactions from supporters. Why dont you come out and say what you think we have to do rather than being neither here or there? Talking like a politician you are. You are the most influential person on this forum. No need to sit on the fence.
  2. Not naming them but can be idenfied as required players. Players with some experience. If things dont change quickly it will come to the stage where we have to restart almost from scratch like GWS and GCS.
  3. One or two posters were saying this as early as the begining of last year. It has been my opinion alll along. I wish I could name names.
  4. It has been my opinion for a long time that Neelds brief when hired was to reshape the club to Schwabs vision. Big mistake putting in an inexperienced coach eager to prove himself, He became Schwabs stooge. Some thoughts. Neeld wasting no time marginallising the players that were seen as anti Schwab and hastened their removal. The vengeful leadership changes and then having the gall to say the new leadership was chosen by the player peer group. The constant hinting of the failings of the previous FD. The regular flogging of the players on the track having the appearance of punishment. The players never bought in because Neeld took Schwabs side in the divisions. Neeld is not his own man.
  5. The Dockers under Lyon are one of the most efficient teams in the comp. Supremely organised and adaptable. They make a mockery of stat counting. They will be grand finalists IMO. A far cry from the distracted and effette team 2 years ago who were one of the few sides we used to beat on a regular basis BTW.
  6. The changing culture mantra is another pathetic excuse sold to supporters to deflect responsibillity from those who made disastrous decisions. The so called culture has never been worse than NOW in the entire history of the club. Schwab and Co have had five years to do something positive for this club. Miserable failures.
  7. No. Does this means we could have Viney as caretaker coach again?
  8. Making Trengove and Grimes co-captain looked to me more of a marketing ploy rather than picking the best available. Get two appealing poster boys to fly the flag. I can't believe that it could have been a peer group decision or from the FD. Looks like something Schwab dreamed up and inline with all the other gimmicks you mention.
  9. Not speaking for RR but if we cannot resolve our problems which seems the case then the AFL should step in and place in a temporary administration. The current board and CEO are disfunctional and in a state of paralysis. Replacing with a new admisitration that may not be completely neutral may not resolve the problems and internal divisions. The board should be disolved, the CEO sacked and replace them with competant baggage free professionals. In due time fresh elections can be held.
  10. In the Age today it states that the AFL are very concerned about the state of our club. And Demetriou saying that he is hoping we do well tonight. against Essendon. On face value this looks like wishful thinking. This may be a precurser to AFL intervention if things don't improve.
  11. Maybe you should start a poll on what his next "nomme de plume" might be.
  12. Heard on telly that Greg Wells may try to get on the MFC board. Quoted as saying something about like getting 80's players involved. Interesting, like he may be trying to distance himself from the junior old boys that plague us at the moment. Any opinions?
  13. My condolences. My mum is also 87 and I worry for her a lot. He would have been 38 at the time of our last flag. In the prime of his lfe and known nothing but success for our club then. I guess he would never had imagined then that would be all to it for the rest of his life. Yes its only a game but its one of those little things in the big picture that makes life worth living.
  14. Disagree.we we a poor side then but far more competative. More like declining rather than permanent bottom feeders that we are now.
  15. Dont forget the woes of South Melbourne. In steady decline for decades just like us. Got to the stage where no one had the will to fight anymore and just accepted their demise without a whimper. Then the VFL moved in and relocated them in leiu of folding completely.
  16. [censored] poor attitude from you. You just expect everyone to keep sucking mediocrity up. If there are fools around here you must be the biggest of the lot.
  17. may be stuck on seven for the rest of the season.
  18. I wont be listening. Enduring a hangover is tough enough.
  19. Grew up at the top end of Powlett St. Could see the MCG sitting on our front fence. Every Saturday I'd watch thousands of fans walk by with their floggers etc before and after the game. Later When I was about 10 I would go the MCG at 3 quarter time when it was free to enter and watch the last quarters. Then it was only Melbourne's and Richmond's home ground. Never cared for the Tigers though. Only seemed natural to follow Melbourne.
  20. He's got a lot of bum fluff for protection now.
  21. Big changes to the top heads not long after helped him along.
