The rest of the votes go to us Dees supporters who keep barracking and supporting for no return. Nothing. Zilch.

6. Jack Grimes

5. Jack Viney

4. Matt Jones

3. Nathan Jones

2. Mark Jamar

1. Sam Blease

(First time I've given votes to a sub who was on for less than a full quarter but I think that might say something about the lack of effort we saw out there today]

I think you've got it exact. Blease came on and tried. Didn't even do everything right, but he was visibly trying the whole time he was on the ground.

Grimes' efforts in the last quarter should leave several teammates hanging their heads in shame that they let him go alone.

Felt sorry for Blease. If I were coach (and probably a good thing I'm not), I would have left him on the bench, and said 'Don't worry Sam, this isn't your doing' and left the rest of those duds out there to earn at least a portion of their pay.

6. Viney

5.M.Jones

4.Grimes

For me that is it, Nate Jones, Jamar & Clark all had a dip and can maybe get 1 point for that, Sammy Blease had a go when he came on but the game was gone at that stage

Viney

Grimes

Jamar

Blease

Jones N

Dunn

And by this I mean only two worthy of votes and perhap the other 4 worthy of keeping there place in the side. Would swap Clark for Dunn if (Dunn was another player who was totally unaccountable - can't get the full picture on TV)

I feel dirty that I even considered Sylvia, when we could see how little pressure or chasing he did.

Did Matt Jones do something?

Didn't see it myself.

Sad when a guy on debut is the best player and best kick in the team at 18.

6. Vieny (although he dropped away he was better when he had it than Grimes)

5. Grimes (fought it out all day but wasn't as damaging as Viney)

4. Jones M (Great effort from a first gamer, got lots of it, kicking needs a bit of work - didn't make the distance from 45 m)

3. Clarke (battled hard despite rubbish delivery. Still kicked a couple from limited opportunities.

2. Jones N (played ok but didn't work hard enough defensively

1. McKenzie (everything he touched went to s*** but at least he was in the play and did seem to be genuinely interested in running hard)

6. Viney- by the far the best

5. Jamar- looked pretty good around the ground

4. Mckenzie- Better than most games last year, quite effective

3. Grimes- Liked his run around defence and his posessions, though still didn't like his decision making.

2. Clark- Didn't really do anything wrong, a couple of great goals from 50

1. Sylvia- Decent.

Jamar is responsible for supply to our midfield. Take a look at the first 4 centre bounces and the majority of others later, you may wish to reconsider your voting. Thought their big blokes killed us and gave their midfield an armchair ride. Also set the tone for the game. I wouldn't have had him in my first 10 today.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was
