Franklin: Hawthorn's Voldemort

...and AD answered that hypothetical question because????

Sowing a seed.

It did cross my mind.

As Kerry Packer once said, "There's a little bit of a [censored] in all of us.."

Is there in Franklin?

If Biffen's comment rings true, Franklin could scratch that itch. It would be a massive coup for the AFL ...., er sorry GWS.

Have been told (cant vouch for the source) that Freo has offered $1.2 for 4 yrs PLUS a guarantee he will be employed as an indigenous ambassador for 10 yrs post career..

Its starting to smell...the AFL will have their hand all over it,

Interesting. Isn't that almost exactly what Kennet said on FC - except for the freo bit! He was banging on about Buddy staying at Hawthorn to shore up his post footy career, said the media wouldn't be his go but that he be would a leader in his community. Perhaps Freo have the same idea (it would be ironic if they got it from Jeff).

Franklin....Gawn!

Freo Mining $$$ will set up the Franklin mint very nicely.

Vlad our bloated one got very heated on the the wireless this morning.

Cracks are appearing in his Empire at AFL HQ.

Could it be that he views only flags won outside of Victoria as profitable?

Won't be long, his reign of tyranny is approaching the end

I think the social media is helping people pull the Wool away from the publics Eyes.

people are becoming Less naive, bypassing the AFL's spin cycle.

the past control of the truth, is going to hang some AFL people down the track, just as it is in other areas like the church, tapes in political circles, etc etc.

electronic media is aiding the truth to be attained by the normal person.

Here we go again AFL will look at topping up Lance Franklin's pay if decides to move north and join GWS

Certainly, we need to promote the game on a national level but does it have to be in a way that denies constituent clubs any chance of preserving their most valuable assets?

what a joke..... The blatant draft and trade cheating going on here, is an absolute disgrace..... How do they manage to get away with this [censored]!! They have killed our once great comp....

They will probably give buddy the money they take from us for that fine..... I bet GWS get a priority pick this year too....

...could you ever imagine a political figure saying one thing publicly, but barracking for the opposite result inside.

imo, Buddy would be a good attraction in the outer limits of the Western Sydney.

Interesting that Voldemort could have a nemesis.

one cleancut lad who despises binging, & the other who parte`s like its 1999... :)

" 'oh', the pain, the pain of it all "......

There is a showdown looming at Glenferrie Oval this year.

Franklin and Clarkson are not talking to each other over an issue to do with Buddies partying.

A source has told me the words

"it's either him or me" were uttered in a conciliation/ crisis meeting .

The club is divided over it.

Not a happy team at Hawthorn.

Personally I'm pretty happy with it.

If someone said that about a Melbourne player, they'd be banned wouldn't they?

The AFL has become a tragic case of manipulation.

Does anyone have faith in it on any subject these days.

If they said it was daytime I would go out and have a look.

It seems almost every organisation around the world that has been into burying the truth, over the past 30 - 40 years, are finding the 'Truth Zombies' are surfacing, to show the error of their ways.

the misdemeanors are coming back to haunt them.

or should that be 'their chickens are coming home to roost'.

we will end up with a even competition yet OD. give it a little while. have faith.

Its such a level playing field. All clubs treated fairly and equally. Amazing how they do it really

It reminds you of George Orwell's Animal Farm (I hope I get the quote right - I am sure someone will point it out if I don't):

"All animals are equal. Some are more equal than others".

Demetriou just spoke on SEN, and called it very poor journalism by Robinson based on a hypothetical question.

If you were Buddy, you couldn't help but think what kind of figures the AFL would be talking. He may already know.....hello Folau's marketing component....

Demetriou also blasted Caroline Wilson on the same programme.

Of course, he was silent when she was getting stuck into us suggesting we should be punished for match fixing and that Cam Schwab should lose his job.

I think they have a very cosy relationship where every now and then they tip a bucket (not to big) on each other just to make us believe that there is a healthy media holding the AFL to account. They are treating us as fools and I don't buy it, the industry is way to incestuous and any truly dissenting voices are run out of town. Anyone remember Grant Thomas.

Incestuous is a perfect word for it. Some good independent journalism would do the game a world of good; no unfounded criticism needed, just the truth.

You could be right, as is the case with Robinson-Demetriou. Whilst I like to deal with facts, like many I can take the cynical approach.

After all, why not have a great relationship with the two "Chiefs" of the two top papers in Melbourne. You scratch my back, I'll give you a story....

P.Smith was big on Demetriou being held to account for the tanking verdict and his no-show at the announcement. Probably still is, but it's all quiet now. Gil feeds him an exclusive story on the need for a charter: http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/opinion/need-for-charter-was-underlined-by-mick/story-e6frg7uo-1226589455383

Here's a story, take it easy on AD, Patrick. Cynical? Maybe.

Get out the pepper, salt and tomato sauce..... the family club are getting sick of the party boy without whom they win more games.

I hope he disrupts GWS too. I want them to wait at least 50 years for their next flag, as we've had to.

The wait could only be till 28th September JJC!

PS I don't care what LF does outside of football.

He can help win a flag and is very entertaining at games after that I don't care

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
