  1. Change the bloody umpires. Yes yes I know we could have done better, but THAT GOAL! "nuff said.
  2. I would have like the roof closed though, that is the only benefit to the ground, instead we had to put up with the wind tunnel effect for half the game. At least at the G you don't get that freezing wind coming out of docklands!
  3. What did he overhear? Bucks saying he could play better? Poor diddums would have been offended at any criticism! I don't think we need any more prima donnas do we?
  4. We won. Still haven't stopped smiling.
  5. I have always liked CG and thought he had great potential. This year when we have needed him to, he has stepped up. He has shown true leadership, and his game skills have improved a lot. Hopefully he will stick with us and will only get better. A couple more Garlands, a couple more Nate Jones' and things would be looking much better for us.
  6. The bugler sounds woosy and is an affectation we can do without. I liked the Tige's drumming as they ran out - it got the blood pumping and had a terrific, primal sound to it - far more befitting a footy club than a bugler! My 2c
  7. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-06-19/milne-out-indefinitely Well, there's the answer to that question.
  8. I would have thought St Kilda would have to suspend him pending the court case - it is common practice for any organisation to suspend an employee who has been charged with a serious offence while waiting on a resolution. If St Kilda don't, it sends a very poor message indeed. Hmmm. Mick Malthouse fined $7,500 for his angry words - should Milne be found guilty (and Malthouse therefore proven correct) what do you think his chances of a refund are?
  9. If talking could win games we would be premiers now. (Sigh) it takes a bit more than that....
  10. My two cents - Loved Daniher as a coach and a clubman. Since he got the boot, where have we gone? If (and I say if, I don't know that it is the right thing to do) Neeld got the sack, why not bring in Daniher as a caretaker and try him out. Loved his passion too - great to see someone get excited about the club instead of the poker faced 'handball' Bailey. He made you feel like he actually cared if we won or lost. Something we miss lately.
  11. Kennett's record of selling everything to the highest bidder should make every Melbourne supporter very scared. If he nominates, I will be at the meeting to vote against him!!!!
  12. Did anyone else see that incident in the fourth quarter? I think it was Dustin Martin? Knocked Dunny to the ground. Three umpires standing RIGHT THERE, not even a word said. I had to remember last week, when a GC player got knocked the ground, got a free kick and got a goal. Not that giving us a free in the defensive goal square would have helped, but fair is fair. And what are the umpires there for if it isn't to make sure the game is fair? Three of them, all managed to 'not see'. Should have gone to Spec Savers.
  13. I wonder if a glove would help? At least give him some mental security?
  14. Talking about us right now, in relation to how poorly the Doggies are going. At least they are giving us credit for effort on Sunday.
  15. Ha ha ha. My friend was trying to work out one of the new player's names at a game earlier this year - I told her to just call him Jack, odds on she would be right!
  16. I thought it was just me who could see the change after the hamstring injury at Docklands - I am pleased to see that I am not imagining things, but still sad that this injury happened in the first place. I am so glad we don't play there much, it is a terrible ground. I still remember seeing Davey for the first time in summer at Sandringham, thinking "wow this kid is fast, can he kick?". Ah, memories!
  17. Why would we want to lose another experienced player, and pick up someone else from another club that no-one else wants? We need to stand up and show our boys a bit of loyalty, if we expect them to show it to us in return. The last few years we have been very disloyal, discarding players for no good reason and then picking rejects to 'replace' them. This must be very disheartening to those that remain - and not very good for their mind set. I know that Col has shown more promise than he has delivered, but I still think we can't afford to lose him. We want to make Melbourne a club people want to stay at, rather than one where they jump before they are pushed.
  18. Did anyone read Kennett's fluff piece in the HS today? Utter garbage, nothing new there (what a surprise).
  19. Oh yeah, that was a great day. It was just a no-consequence game, but it felt like it mattered! That game was gone, then it was as if that team that played in the first half didn't come out of the rooms after the break, but a different team came out instead. Can they play this week?
  20. I can tell you what our memories are, losing, losing, losing. We haven't won a GF in my lifetime and if we continue to play like this I don't think I will ever see a flag. Still I will continue to go - that is why footy fans are crazy!
  21. I don't think GPS measures how hard you run, but how far. So a nice little jog around the G would get the numbers up. In all honesty, there was a lot of that going on on Sunday, it seemed like players jogging around aimlessly, not knowing where to position themselves. Isn't this a skill taught at Auskick? You stick to your man, and run hard if he does. There hasn't been much of that happening this year, and that is a big part of our problem unfortunately. I guess sticking to your man and playing hard is not part of the game plan.
  22. Yes, Bailey's game plan, that was a winner. handball, handball, handball. I asked him about it and he just laughed. Couldn't explain it then, can't understand it now. He just drilled a bad habit into a bunch of young kids that Neeld has obviously been trying to undo. For the most part it seems to have worked, but every now and then, when under pressure - handball, handball, handball = the inevitable turnover.
  23. I think the local kinder parents committee couldn't do any worse....
  24. I am really not looking forward to being on a train with Richmond supporters next week. They tend to be an unforgiving lot.
