Super impressive.

I loved the way he worked up the ground also, he was prepared to spread far and wide for an opportunity. Seemed poised, confident and a part of a team.

yes, yes, yes.

I really got a feeling with so many new players on the ground and from established players like Jones and Watts that there was a feeling of a corner being turned. I'll qualify that by suggesting that it might not lead to a swing in our win to loss ratio. But it feels like there has been enough of a turnover for us to get over the horror of seasons past.

Getting number one my back tomoz at the family day. Loved his under 18 carnival and god he looks good.

My head is saying the opposition probably weren't paying him too much attention, it is only a practice match and it is very early days and I shouldn't get ahead of myself

The Melbourne supporter bit of me is thinking he has great hands, can kick, had enough of an engine to go find his own ball on the wing, is quick, made decent decisions, is 6 foot 51/2, is 100kgs and just turned 18. Oh and he has that don't f...k with me attitude that might excite Mark Neeld amongst others

Ok, I got ahead of myself

The kid is good and is only going to get better... however, the most surprising thing for me is that this thread has gone to its second page and still no-one has suggested he is a future captain.

The OP says it for me. And plenty of other posters above.

Wow.

Just: Wow!

First time I've seen him play tonight. He pretty well did not do a thing wrong - hard to believe for such a young bloke. Knew where to go, how to position himself, where to kick to a team mate. And isn't he built like a brick dunny!

I hate it when we get ahead of ourselves, as we have on too many players in the past, but I'm letting the reins out on this one.

He moves really well and his field kicking needs refinement but he looks like he will make it easier to be Jack Watts...

Kudos to the club for getting that deal done and getting those three.

I just blew the dust off my Mathew Warnock player worn jersey for a very good reason tonight.

Number 1 is back baby!

Absolutely loved his whole presence on the field tonight. Hogan looks to have that classic forward dominance with added modern skills. Look out Franklin i say.

Absolutely stoked with this kid. Already proven to be a better KP player than watts. His hunger for the contest is awesome. Plus he's a big boy! There wont be any waiting for him to grow into his body with this bloke

Watts hasn't been a KPF for a year or two. I though Watts was great tonight and went at the footy. Loved Hogan, but the comparison is just so off the mark.

Mitch.

Viney.

Hulk.

All of a sudden (kinda) I have that pride (gone since Neita retired) creeping back in...

A bit early, Stuie. I want 60 games under Viney's belt, 40 for Hoges and 30 injury-free games for Mitch.

Is plutonium illegal to digest according to ASADA? If so hogan is in trouble.

You misunderstand me. Not saying the young fellas are instant superstars, but those 3 guys are the TYPE of players (and people) that make you proud to be a supporter and walk a bit taller if you're a player.

All my life I have watch the Demons trying to find talent. I thought Allen Jackovic to be the most talented and look what happened to him.

Hulk may have been good, but oo many have sat in the same company. I'll cheer when and If he reaches his best for and period longer than 5 years

I'll cheer his first game, his 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and so on. I don't need to wait 5 yrs, Demonsterative. My support is not conditional.

You will not cheer someone unless they play at their optimum for 5 years?

I was hoping to be excited by Toumpas &Viney tonight. Let's not take anything away from them but Hogan was something else. This kid is ineligible to even play this year but the first player since the ox that could legitimately be the dominator of the competition. I will probably get bagged for this post but I can't remember ever seeing a 100kg 17 year old who can mark, kick, find position and got attitude.

Its amazing that he is already 100kg. Next year i expect him to be even more ripped and tone bit like jack darling!

Jesse loves the Dees and is super impressed with Nathan Jones's work ethic. Dont let that lack of smile fool you. An exciting prospect no doubt after tonights efforts - youd have to think top 4 in next year's draft based on that result against AFL players!

Number 1 just about you think, at minimum top 2... how often to KPF prospects like this come along!

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
