We've always known he could run. The problem is his ability to win contests.

Problem was the heart string

Tom MacDonald - Worked one-on-one with various coaches completing kicking and ball-gathering drills.

Clint Bizkit will be happy.

I've been away for a few weeks.

It looks like we are training at the Filths ground.

Is that a permanent thing?

Not that I care too much about the filth, but where are they training, I assume their new ground isn't ready yet.

Thanks BH, Opkick and Steamin' for your reports and pictures.

Sounds like Viney had a bit of a blinder in the running. Thats great news! Also good to hear Trenners is looking spritely, if he can get his depth back into his kicking and a little more acceleration added to the hard yards and 1%ers he had this year 2013 could belong to him. Also I understand the constant reports on Clark, but I hope we can all just relax a little bit, he was always a bit ahead to this point in his recovery, he's wearing normal shoes, and doing running on the low grav treadmill, maybe there will be minor setbacks, but lets not jump at shadows.

He wasn't limping the last few times I saw him. But that could be because I was watching him sleep.

But seriously, I didn't notice a limp the 2 times I've seen him recently.

Don't know about Jonathan O'Rourke, he reminds me of Cale Morten.

We don't want another one of them.

More of a Nick Dal Santo, I reckon. If the Saints had a choice between Dal Santo and Lenny Hayes you think that they'd choose Hayes. That's why I think we should go for Wines ahead of O'Rourke.

the sad thing is we picked lucky molen, and nicky del got picked a few picks later

Why do you think Jones is going to be an inside mid, and you have forgotten Rodan, Byrnes, Bail and Tapscott....personally would hope we go with Ollie Wines, Toumpas is a stick at the moment, and we have just gotten rid of two 'sticks' why replace them with another one

Anyone willing to tackle in the question I posed in the OP on their observations from training about the type of midfielder we should be looking at in this week's draft?

Is it really plausible to predict this after watching one or a few training sessions? games maybe but not training...

There's nothing wrong with Toumpas' frame whatsoever and I have no doubt he'll quickly bulk up to a satisfactory level.

It's sheer lunacy to even consider overlooking him because you don't think he's big enough. I remembered watching him in the championships and thinking that he had a really nice frame that would quickly fill out.

When Viney was asked a few weeks ago on radio who was the one player that he hoped would be available at the Dees first pick he named Toumpas. He's in a far better position to judge than anyone who posts on here.

The point I was trying to make is yes we may well take Toumpas, because I have no input into it whatsoever, but in my opinion we got rid of two similar likes including one drafted in the same spot, personally again personally I would prefer Wines

Toumpas is a far better kick than Scully.

He can play inside and out, wins contested footy and makes really good decisions, so for the life of me I can't see how anyone would contemplate comparing him to Morton.

We lack midfield class and pace. He has both. It's a no brainer.

One would hope so!

As was more than half our list during the time he was with us; let's not use Scully as a kicking benchmark.

Some posters have made the odd Scully reference when discussing Toumpas in various threads, which is why I brought him up.

Toumpas is considered an elite kick. Name our elite kicks ?

I would rate Watts as pretty much an elite kick, Davey another, Jones is fast becoming a very very reliable kick and would not be far off.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
