In the absence ( seemingly lol ) of RR I humbly offer up this POLL !!

Now try, if you can, to remain unbiased and honest.

Feel free to expand upon the answers but only as to clarify. plenty of other threads to whinge or compliment etc.

Ive only supplied this poll to provide a snapshot of where people might stand.

its really inconsequential as to the good bad or otherwise. it neither castigates nor validates.

Just asks a few questions. Might be interesting to garner an idea of what people think.

Tough poll B59, given a lot of the answers have to be given without knowing the full story.

But at the risk of being shot down, my answers;

1. Adequate. Is he the best out there? No. But at this stage, given a tough couple of years, he has maintain our profitable bottom line.

2. Yes. Unless he is proven to be the brains trust behind getting the qunatity of people involved in these "meetings".

3. No. I'm not going to hang the man without facts.

4. No. See point 3. BUT, if he is responsible, he ought.

5. Yes. Very professional, passionate. Did explain how we made an offer to Clarkson to coach prior to Neeld's arrival.

Feast away.

Didnt suppose it'd be quite as easy as some might suspect Billy..as you say.

Much is often based upon perceptions. We often make judgements on things without knowing the back stories only what we can see/read/hear/ participate in etc.

We probably all have varying criteria also. Thats the nature of these things :)

I think I would like to vote - first I am casting this opinion as outsider looking in so I have to largely judge the book by its cover

A whole lot of good mixed with a whole lot of bad.

A whole lot of good - Debt reduction, restructuring the footy club and will even give him cudo's for getting Energywatch ( as other codes did as well) and then replacing them when they went pearshaped - not easy in this enviroment with the product he has to sell.

A whole lot of bad - the apparent sticking his nose into the footy department and getting players and others offside and his tie up with this current mess.

I think one bloke taking the wrap for all of this nonsense is a bit much, who knows, he may help get us off lightly.

I've met him a few times, very nice bloke, loves the MFC and is as filthy as I am when we lose.

Regardless of whether you rate Schwab or not, the club needs to move on from the tanking episode. The best way to do so is with a change in the administration. No one who was involved at the time at either Board level or in the higher level administration should remain.

It's a pity the names of voters aren't public. Given CS frequents here I'd be interested in seeing how he rates himself.

I think nutbean summed it up. He's been a mixed bag. He deserves alot of credit for overseeing getting us out of debt, despite Jimmy's role. However he has also overseen what has been one of the worst period's in the club's history, from all angles, culminating in what we're currently seeing.

I'm also not as big a fan of him introducing things under the guise of heritage and tradition. The blazers, the bugler, even that stupid dinky collar...I'd be more than happy to see all of these binned and never spoken of again.

Do you hold Cam Schwab responsible in any way for the current AFL investigation in alledged Tanking?

Do you think Cam Schwab ought to resign ?

How about "Do you think you should see a solicitor?, since Cam is not charged with anything.

Posted

i can only judge my opinion on what i see (not what i hear 2nd hand).

Is good for the financial position of the club and is passionate about the club and its history

Posted

as soon as this debacle is over he needs be replaced, terrible CEO, he lurches from one disaster to the next, as for a person hes a probably a good bloke.

where have I said he is.. but thats not how you Trolls operate is it.

On face value, I would voted for him to resign just to purely get some respite from the media.

There is no doubting in my mind he has many enemies and this attracts the vitriol thrown at the club.

Sure he's helped wipe the debt and done many other good things with the sponsor issues (or was he just lucky) but it's time to start fresh at the corporate level as well.

Agree with most of your post (as always ....). For the last part, at least you included "apparent". As with everything that's going on now, it's just a cesspool of rumour, innuendo and speculation, all fueled by a generous helping of fabrication.

When asked about this earlier in the year, Neil Craig made the point of saying that there was no interference in the FD from Schwab or the Admin.

Comments:

We had high hopes for Cameron when he arrived at the Melbourne Football

School but 2012 was another disappointing year. It was especially concerning

to see Cameron go backward in membership this year after the solid progress

we saw from him in this subject previously.

On a brighter note, Cameron has shown some enthusiasm, if not aptitude, for

Art and Fashion. Many students were impressed by the new school logo and

school blazers that Cameron designed. Unfortunately, these subjects were not

part of Cameron's curriculum so they won't be included on his official academic

record.

Cameron was also part of a group recruitment project this year which has had

some good results, although it must be said that most of the work was done

by a new student, Mark, and another boy from outside of the school, Garry.

Despite this, Cameron would have got a much higher mark for this subject if he

had not cut corners and performed so badly on the General Manager – Player

Development and Strategy component of the project.

I continue to harbour serious concerns about Cameron's social development

and he is reported to have been bullying some of the other children outside

of his friendship group. As you know, this is a serious matter. Cameron was

almost expelled for his inappropriate behaviour last year. Thank goodness he

is related to the principle.

Hazy. The point has been made. We know your thoughts.

Hey Hazy - why don't you do a similar rating of the CEOs coming before Cameron Schwab?

You know - Ray Ellis, Steve Harris and Paul "Wimbledon" McNamee?

That wouldn't have the same impact.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
