It is hard...you could go and get a lot of ex players to stand in line....

I think I'd go with OX! And just delete his bung knee DNA along the way and wa la.

Instant Theo X time!

Boy I'd be happy!

Well at least he shows the love for the Demons most of the time on SEN!

Unlike alot of the media.

Jakovich or the Ox in their prime.

A young Robbie Flower would also give us that outside run we are desperate for.

My old man would say Barassi hands down, but he was before my time...

Damn i used to love watching Allan Jachovich go round though, footy was a lot of fun back then. I remember watching cats and dees one day and I think jacko kicked 10 and ablett kicked 11 or 12 and I knew we were going to win all day!!! Good memories!!!

Robbie Flower in a heart beat. Outside pace, courage, sublime skill on both sides (dare I use the forbidden "e" word: elite!?!), leadership... and loved the jumper.

Pre-knee Ox. Although it would mean that Dawes doesn't get a game.

Rod Grinter. Just for one game - versus Carlton. To run through Mitch Robinson and make him even uglier than he is now. Ultimate sportgasm.

Wouldn't have minded two Nietzs running around in the early 00's - one at each end!

Noel McMahen

I shook hands with him last year and he nearly crushed it

Also I heard he still eats nails for breakfast and that he still pollishes his boots waiting for the MFC to call him

Hassa Mann (failing that, Stan Alves, Brian Dixon or Gary Hardeman).

Robbie Flower without question.

His game would transform to another level given the current changes in the current game. He would also receive protection now in what has become a heavily scrutinised game. His skills were always sublime and had the ability to play in all roles from Full Back on Mal Blight to Full Forward, HB, HF and Utility rose with Wing being his dominant position.

Barassi must have been an inspiration as well but sadly too young to see him play.

Stan Alves was the best Captain I witnessed as a supporter and was always disappointed he never coached us.

David Neitz as a power forward not far behind.

Forgot to mention Sean Wight.

ATM while our Backs are "developing" there is not a player near him for skill or tenacity. Perfect clone Job.

Greg Wells

Wells and Brian Wilson both played "bigger". Both great hands and a had a sense of where the ball was going.

I'd have to go for Tom Wills, so he could remind everyone we played that it's "Our" game!

(otherwise R Flower or Theo X)

Schwarta pre-knee. The Wiz buzzing about. The Wrecker spear tackling. Duke Spalding at CHB. Robbie on a wing. Allen Jakovich in a pocket.

Gawd we'd win the flag by 15 goals!

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
