A very good source has informed me that Eddie has been in contact with Vlad to try and set up a "Judd type" deal to Keep Cloke at the Filth.

A supporter is prepared to "sponsor" him as a third party.

This must not be allowed to occur.

The AFL has already said no to us last year.

Keep your eyes and ears open & if anything comes of it Vlad must resign.

I hope the MFC are onto it.

Everyone on this site seems to have a "very good source" on everything AFL apart from me!

The Judd deal is a disgusting rort of salary cap rules, from a club that has a history of rorting the salary cap (throwing stones in a glass house, I know). How they ever got this through, I'll never know. A Bomber friend of mine (I like to help the people sometimes) has a theory that the AFL copped too much flack for cracking down on Carlton's salary cap escapades and gave them this deal as a sweetener.

Yes, but generally our guesses turn out to be just as accurate ;-)

Even Carlton people are amazed the Judd deal still exists. Which is probably why Eddie is pushing hard...

Wouldn't Cloke going to Carlton be a far more attractive offer to Vlad?

Carlton V Collingwood next year was already going to be huge, throw Cloke switching sides into the mix, the marketability and interest would be epic.

I don't care about that. I want Vlad accountable if a 3rd party deal is brokered.

It was vetoed last year.

If Eddie is panicking I can understand why.

IMO whenever Cloke has been down on form so have the Pies.

I know a team is more than one player

But Cloke makes their forward line without him they are average.

If he leaves who kicks the goals at Collingwood.

2013 and beyond without Cloke will become very ordinary for the Pies.

A small part of me wants Eddie to be successful with a deal for Cloke.

But a bigger part wants Cloke at Freo or Carlton.

I have heard that not only Judd, but many of his immediate family, are in the employ of the cardboard empire. Even including Mrs Judd (not the WAG).

Rort?

If they do allow it then they will be the biggest hipocrites! if they do it will be because its collingwood and they're too spineless to stand up to them and their supporters!!!

I'm sure the AFL Ethics Officer wouldn't let that happen (cough cough) :o

I heard something similar. Disgraceful episode by the AFL.

Judd deal really smacks in the face of the salary cap ... should never have happened

True and they won't let it happen again, Eddie or not.

The Afl has allowed Luke Ball to manipulate the draft to end up at Collingwood, it has also allowed Carlton to rort the salary cap with Judd. Seems to me the big boys get away with whatever they want, but should Melbourne FC want to do a Judd like deal to keep Scully or manipulate the draft to get Viney at a later pick the AFL comes down hard.

The Draft and Salary cap are the only things keeping this comp remotely even, big clubs have boundless money compared to the minnows of the comp to spend on coaches, medicos, sports science, facilities, end of season altitude training trips. By letting the big boys abuse the only two systems in place it makes it impossible for small clubs to compete without begging members for money, the AFL should be ashamed.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
