Changes for GWS

Changes for GWS following the bye-

Out- Morton, Green

In- Cook, Gysberts

Morton out because his turnovers are akin to having an extra opponent. Momentum killer

Green out because like his mate Davey, just looks like he is past it

Cook comes in because there has been no better time, he has momentum at Casey and GWS will be a good introduction

Gysberts comes in because we lack midfield class and he lacks AFL experience. Fitness maybe an issue but sub him out if need be

Would love to see Couch come in but it's hard to drop Moloney or Sylvia because it would mean they get 2 weeks off. I am confused with what to do with these two. They need consecutive games to get them out of their funk

Agree wholeheartedly with the outs. Green is done and Morton needs intensity and poise. I get sick of saying it, people get sick of reading it but it doesn't change the fact he stands next to a pack and leans his hands in while Jones comes from 15 meters back and dives ontop of the ball.

Cook im not sure about yet. Let's not gift games because we think it's an easy one. We're far from a lock for this game so make Cook really earn it. 2 weeks of 2 quarter efforts are good but his second halfs have been poor at Casey.

Troy Davis in, Rivers to forward line and Gysberts can come in too.

Too early for Gys back one game after his previous comeback of a few minutes.

Green is injured and struggling anyway, his kicking has gone missing and that was a strength. Stef Martin may come back in but also hasn't had much match time.

If Couch were to come in it would have to be for Moloney or maybe Magna or as sub for Dunn, maybe not.

I would like to have a look at Cook, he strikes me as the type of player who would play better in top company. He didn't look out of place in the early NAB cup round robin last year.

Davey, Petterd, Bennel, Bate???

Tynan just back from injury, has a go and is flexible?

Maybe Davis deserves a run.

All up I don't think we have a lot of options at the moment.

Can people please get real for a second.

Morton shouldn't be dropped because of one turnover. He's a confidence player. He needs to play some consistent footy. He played some good footy today minus turnovers.

Couch will NOT be put into the team unless one of Moloney, Magner or McKenzie are dropped. We can't have too many averaged-paced inside mids. Magner possibility to be dropped/rested.

Cook will NOT be put into the team until he has the requisite fitness to play out a full game. At the moment, he's young and coming off injuries so clearly only can play a half at full tilt. Until that fitness comes, let him develop nicely at Casey's number one target at full forward!

Davey, Bail and Bartram are strong and only chances to return after the bye I would have thought.

Didn't go for the footy - wasn't called a free but it was well away from the footy and it looked terrible.

No it was marking contest where he went into Tom Young's (?) ribs with his forearm - similar to Tapscott.

Lol, did you watch the game? There were at least 3 clear turnovers, two of which directly costed us a goal against. Momentum killer.

Are we being a little precious with Cook? Surely it is time for game number 1- pretty sure he isn't going to break

He's been plagued with injuries and has only now played 2 good games in a row for Casey - the first time i can recall this happening since we drafted him. No, we aren't being too precious. Play him when he is ready... i want to beat GWS.

Morton was one of our best (and hardest running) players today. I hoped coming home from the game that the nuff nuffs here wouldn't have fallen into the trap of bagging out Morton for a couple of obvious mistakes, but I guess that was too much to ask.

I know this is a very strong thing to say, but I HATE seeing Brent Moloney given game after game after game when all he does is push and shove. No chasing, no tackling, no nuffing, and I'm sick of it!

Green was actually fairly okay today. He kicks those two easy goals he missed and we're probably praising his efforts.

OUT: Moloney (dropped), Sylvia (suspended/dropped), Tapscott (guilty of being a hardnut).

IN: Martin, Bate, Bartram (if fit).

My god did we need a good small defender today.

I am feeling a lot more confident about this game than I was 3 weeks ago. Hope we really stick it up them.

So am I tbh. But the real thing that I look forward too in two weeks time is who will stand up for Scully when our blokes get out there and have a crack at him??? The older players of GWS, or both the youngsters and the oldies? Something else I want to see is if Blease gives Scully a bump or two and if anyone is stupid enough to boo James Mcdonald!

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
