Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

He needs to believe he is the man and more performances like this will follow. Roos is holding his nerve with our players and it's paying off. Watts and Pedersen were huge. Who would have thought?

I maligned him a couple of weeks ago, so today I've gotta hand it to him. He played superbly. When we started improving, I lamented that we couldn't "just finished the job" because of our lack of players who can just grab the game by the throat and lift the team. Looks like we've had them all along, though they've been hiding...

I think the reason behind his better form this year is because he is decidedly not 'the man' and he even said it in interviews after the game that he was just told he is 'another player who has to play a role' and that is what you saw today.

His intensity is well up, but he's also now being smarter at the contest, using his body to his advantage and then using his athleticism to destroy anyone else his height.

It's coming together now, and he's beginning to impact games regularly.

His improvement is huge for us.

interesting to see morris on him to start - he was too strong for him. then they shifted chaplin on to him - he was too quick for him.

he's coming more and more of a difficult match-up for opposition coaches due to the way that he has a nice blend of height and speed.

finally, we might be seeing what we will get from him.

Not a perfect game, but a strong consistent game during which he rose to the big moments. He was one of the few still at full pace in the last quarter. At one stage in the last quarter he and Dawes were over near the wing on the Brunton Ave side, and after 4 or 5 long plays both were absolutely stuffed. From there Watts led 2, 3, 4 times and burned off every opponent near him, ended up reciving it on the lead. I was surprised, relieved and delighted with his game today.

Good post, M. The thing about Jack playing Richmond is belief. He knows he can do it against them. He's done it twice before. If he can continue that belief, he'll be a very dangerous and handy player for us. I dare say, even a game breaker.

You were getting into him on the Match thread this week.

In 2 weeks he might not play so well and you'll be calling him a joke.

Double standards HH

h_h's thoughts don't lead from one to another, they're just random, unrelated occurrences. Don't bother trying to hold him to account, it's pointless.

I'd still have hugged him if he'd had the audacity to be nearby after the win, though.

Nearly cost us . We will never get that soft Brighton, silky polish out of his game and turn him into a scrubber.

He will always have that little bit of extra class out of his game and bring him down because he gets laid a lot more than us.

(Maybe not me)but most of you.

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
