Changes for next week?

jumbo returns

Someone needs to be disciplined....probably Sylvia,

Don't think Morton did enough to stay and Jurrah injured,

I would select Dunn at CHF, brings aggression at least to the side, we seem to play better when he is there,

I realise he is no champion but he does try.

Couch in place of Sylvia, he would get 10 touches at least so better than Sylvia,

and Martin or Tappy depending on who the match ups are expected to be, but then I know stuff all

about football apart from 50 years support and 150 reserves games in the Amateurs,

Glad I am not a Selector or Talent Scout !

Still buy a ticket next year but not sure about the boss, had to persuade her she wanted one this year

gunna be very difficult again without some sort of turn around

go dees give em HELL !!!

How surprising that the two best players we had yesterday were sent back to Casey to work on their form and adherence to the plan rather than handed games. Same should be done now to senior players in Moloney, Sylvia and Davey. Trengove needs to rest whatever has him running in treacle.

Out: Moloney, Sylvia, Davey, Trengove, Jurrah (injured)

In: Couch, Tapscott, Martin, Taggert, Dunn

Bring in Couch for Sylvia,he couldn't be any worse could he? He'd have 10 times the hunger as Sylvia.

I wouldn't play Maloney again until he re-signs,players who want to stay at their club have signed by this time of the year.

There is no future in Dunn,Bate,Bail,Joel Mac,Bartram-don't want to see them in the team again.

Would like to draft the best VFL mid again.

You serious?! Dunn, Bate, Bartram and Joel Mac all have a fair dinkum crack each time they play for us. I'd actually bring all of those players back.

Could not agree more RB.

You know I wonder if the coach said to the team this week

Just forget the Plan, go out and play to enjoy the game.

Get the ball and look for a team mate to deliver it to.

They just look absolutely lost at present.

So go out and do it enjoy yourself.

Could it makes us worse?

Free up Frawley Free up Frawley. Free Up Frawley

Way too good to be wasted at Full Back.

And yes I know he's a bit like Scarlett etc and he's the key to their defence. Fill his position with any number of our journeymen or kids and let get him forward where he can help swing a game. Love to see him forward.

Out: Sarcastic, negative and pessimistic profanity hurling supporters.

In: Supporters who support.

Out: Supporters who blindly accept everything that is dished up to them and support for the sake of supporting

In: Supporters who genuinely support by offering up constructive criticism when required and offering up honest open dialog about where the club is at.

Changes for next week?

Give the players a week off from being flogged at training, then expecting them to be up for a game.

That is, let them recover.

Is this based on anything? Pretty surprising if they were getting this wrong, although they always look underdone (overdone?) out there.

Fwiw I'd drop Morton and davey based on the half I forced myself to sit through.

They already have a plan. Which the players aren't following.

I haven't seen Saturday's game, but was the game plan any different to the first seven rounds? Obviously the result was no better but statistically it was completely different with (comparatively) massive possessions. Up until Round 8 our best disposal gatherers were getting around 22-24 disposals a game. Yet this week Watts had 34 and Blease 27. So, what was different?

Note: For all those who are tempted to hit the keyboard to state the obvious about the result, the effort (apparently - as I said I haven't seen it), etc, don't bother. I think we all know that. What I really want to know was what might have changed in game style.

Played a loose man in defence for basically the entire match (hence Watts' tally), and Blease provided some run off half back that I hadn't seen a great deal of. There was also a lot more switching of the play when we were 0-50m out from Sydney's goal, so there's always going to be an increase in possession counts there.

Thanks Billy.

So Neeld is at last showing that he, too, has seen the need for change. All we heard pre-season was that Blease would play forward and Watts wing or forward.

It's time to sort out the senior players. Bring in Macdonald, Petterd, Dunne, Bate for the next 3 horror games and let the kids get some nurturing under Brett Lovett.

I don't want to see our young players scarred any more.

The next 3 rounds are the time to sort out which of our 50 game + players have the will and skill to stay with the club next year.

After the bye we drop the senior players who are finished and play the kids.

Stef Martin and Sellar need to be tested against the top 4 teams also.....my money is on the SME

In Confidence

belief in own abilities: self assurance or a belief in your ability to succeed

The club must close ranks. Not read a paper. Not watch a game they have played. Yes we have been terrible. 1996 Fitzroy terrible. The fans have had enough. We are easy targets.

But this is what makes sport good.

I said this 3 weeks ago, and it appears more true now than ever. Moloney and Sylvia don't want to play for this club. Kick em out on their arses, then, if that's the case.

OUT: Sylvia, Moloney, Jurrah.

IN: Tapscott, Couch, Martin.

From memory, Moloney had a full pre-season and has been given an extended opportunity to perform. He hasn't. I would drop him and make it absolutely clear to Sylvia (who had a very interrupted pre-season) that he had one more chance to show that he was up for it otherwise he is off for a rest in the country. There's no VFL this week so no VFL players will be able to show anything.

Jurrah's out with injury.

I'd bring back Bates (always gives 100% and can take a mark and kick a goal) for Moloney and, if fit, Stef Martin (has shown that he can play a bit) for Jurrah.

Provided he can keep performing, Couch would have to be the next off the rank but not for these next three maybe. He's there for when Magner or Jones need a break and I don't think that's a long way off.

How could he be worse than the ones he replaces.

Why on earth did we recruit him if we do not want to play him.

Now is the time

Fair point but I think he was recruited to give us a bit of toughness in depth. As others have remarked, we need a range of 'types' in our mids so that has restricted his opportunities - and frankly, it's good to have some competition for spots. Someone (the coaches) have made a judgement that it's not the right time at the moment however, who knows, that might change this week. From what I've read here and elsewhere, he still needs to work on his skills and it's better for everyone if he does that in the VFL. I'd prefer Bates to come back for the reason stated before. I could be wrong.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
