I have read most of the rubbish written on here. He is playing a new role. Have a look at the tape of the pies game he was very good. Beamer is playing on the HFF due to lack of leg speed and teams exposing him on the rebound. It will take time to adjust. His disposal is very good still and can still win clearances. new contract will get done soon

i would keep him unless we could pack him into a deal for some gun kid. sylvia and our mid first round pick for steele sidebottom. offer that kid $600,000 a year if not more. and do a deal. pick 3, 11 and sylvia for beams and sidebottom. the pies would look twice at that deal

I think Grimes in a full strength side would play Half Forward...... his work rate is first class and can work both ends more dangerously. But keep on the ball for now

we also win because we have a week off before. i am worried about the next two weeks we could get belted...... if we dont get belted though i reckon we could belt a team at some stage. when we get a run on we may be hard to stop.

exactly the point.......if he improves as much as he has in his first 40 games in his next 40 then he will be in the top 20 players in the comp.

i had a discussion with my brother pre-season about this point. we lack experienced players in terms of games. people here focus on time on list or age or draft pick....its simply about game time. players get better with age. yes a tipping point is reached but in afl guys retire young and start young. Jones has been given a bad rap over the years on here from people. but he has been a slow burn. slowly getting better and better each year. I sort of look at our performance on half the players. i ignore the rubbish on our list who are playing and will be gone in the next couple of years. i watch watts, grimes, morton, trengove, garland, blease, Howe...............gysberts when he is fit all are getting better slowly. the rubbish is the problem

Grimes has been good for a 30 - 50 game player Jones is a 100+ game player. If we had more 100+ players we would be much better.

totally agree.......keyboard heroes. All i can add is its hard to teach anyone anything let alone lots of things. Neeld is trying to change it all. its very ambitious and it may not work but it may work. Are we any closer to a flag if we had beaten say the Lions, Saints and Dogs? My argument would be no.

Neeld is not the issue. We cant win the ball and we cant hit a target. We dont spread from the contest. No confidence at all. We have no cream at the top and we are shallow in depth. Our midfield is crap. The players are predictable. We lack experience. We cant stop the other team when they get momentum. The Coach can't do much from the box..........when we handball to stationery players or to the other team, when we miss easy goals from straight in front, when we get sucked to the ball carrier and beaten on the overlap.

First time poster long time reader. Mark Neeld.....Jury is still out but he may be on the right track. If his aim is to show up players weaknesses. Some of our players have a lot. But here is a list of in my opinion what he is dealing with. 1. Limited list of talent. He has had to play some players because we have crap players (Dunn, Bate, Bail, Joel Mac and a number of others are either ordinary or no good) 2. No stars. Frawley is an A grade Player. But you need A grade midfielders first and foremost. 3. No confidence. He has contributed somewhat to this 4. No Leadership or decent senior players 5. No Midfield. Jones has a heart and is fit enough everyone else is rubbish. Really thats it. What I would do. Play Watts in defence he can get the ball and hit a target. Play Grimes on a wing he can also find the ball and hit a target Play Morton on a wing. He may be soft but he can run and can kick long Play Frawley on the Ball. Mathew Pavlich anybody? Play Stef Martin on Frawleys Normal man, he is limited but has more + than - Buy better players. target all sorts. not just big names. A shane Tuck, clinton young, some B graders are needed. Mids only bar cloke he is a gun.
