  1. If this eventuates, and it happens that we are in the position to pick Watts up in the draft, is this allowed? Are there rules against picking up a player who wont re-sign?
  2. My concern is that making a team tank contradicts the reason anyone plays sport in the first place- the passion, and enjoyment it provides. If you're being told to play to lose, where does that passion go? And the desire to win? Especially with an impressionable young squad the accountability for not playing to the best of its ability flies out the window. You are right though. It's a subjective affair and not statistically measurable.
  3. Quick, game-smart and skilled type players like watts are wasted in a one dimensional 'pack crashing' forward role. Lynden Dunn type blokes who can kick straight can play that.
  4. We don't have any other DECENT "tall" Defenders in consistent form. Tom Mcdonald perhaps yes but i don't know why commentators and the like class Rivers as a tall
  5. Why would we get rid of morton? I don't see cohorts of a-grade mid's challenging him for his spot. Better morton than bennel's usual 3 possession contribution or bate's oil tanker mobility.
  6. If its true Cloke has knocked back an assumed large (but not large enough) deal from a grand final contending team, playing glory probably isn't his foremost priority. That or he's just ribbing eddie
  7. Perhaps Garland only established himself as a primary defender because Dean Bailey played him out of position for years under his tanking regime.... ? Credit to Garland for being good at it anyway
  8. The Ugly: Watson. What an odd looking fellow
  9. *and could of jumped in the middle with clark and magnum
  10. Interesting that Neeld didn't include himself in the singing circle after the match
  11. and, Hurley's face shown in slow-mo after he kicked a honker
  12. Tom Mcdonald's and Watt's critical last man in defence tackles
  13. Does anyone know what the sportsbet odds for us to win were, going into the game? Go DEES!
  14. And, our musicians are for the most part less able and less willing
  15. Out: Sarcastic, negative and pessimistic profanity hurling supporters. In: Supporters who support.
  16. I was at the SCG yesterday. If sydney can make Lewis Roberts-Thomson look like an important cog in their machine, there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to do that with some of our group of muppets.
  17. Drafting a few mids and bunging in a star is not the answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We (the club) need to work with what we've got. If the drafting system were an absolute simple model, bottom and top teams would fluctuate and mid table teams would remain in the mid. And the whole ladder would be in one gentle equilibrium. But we all know how you can't rely on the draft to deliver success. The players have to learn to operate as one body. And that takes time and games playing together without a list that is constantly being gutted and mashed around

Heart, not to mention smarts and courage. If only the MFC had gotten sucked into that tornado instead of Dorothy Gale
  19. Neeld's vision is thus far a half baked cake- and still needs time in the oven
  20. Definitely for the benefit of Geelong that they showed their faith in Thompson and extended his contract amidst those few shaky seasons pre early 07
