Never thought I'd view a lengthy injury list and think that the most disappointing name to see on it is James Strauss. Gysberts as well. These are two was really hoping would step up this year.

Jack - Spencer was listed as 1 last week and I was surprised, so it would seem he's done with his injury, though there'd be some serious cobwebs to blow out through the Casey 2's. I know many don't rate him, but I'm pleased he's back nice and early; some pressure on Jamar can only be a good thing in his current form.

I was worried about Strauss last week when he said his leg hurts after a game.

That did not sound good and now he has two weeks rest.

We need as few injuries as possible so to get Spencer back can only be good news no matter what I think of him.

Taggert- 3 weeks- you beaut!

Jetta- Indefinite.. how is an ankle injury indefinite? What is the mystery there? It's an ankle- diagnose the problem and give us a time frame!

As far as I can remember, Spencer was starting to look the goods just before injury took him down again. I know in the Shanghai Showdown game he put in a very good effort (for what it's worth).

This is usually the way - there is some residual dull pain.

I might have given you the wrong idea hardtack I actually like him.

Yes he had improved and he has some mongrel about him.

That is a commodity we are a little short on.

I didn't get the wrong impression at all... I thought you probably did like him... I have to say I'm a bit of a fan as well, just as I have been of Jones since he first started with the club and he became everyone's favourite whipping boy... perseverance pays off in many instances, and I have hope that Spencer, like Jones, will do himself and his team proud.

According to Demonland Fitzy was a delist dud too until quite recently.

Will he still have to serve that one match ban?

And anyone know the info on Jetta? I still think he can offer us something, would hate to see him delisted with such limited game time

Can I shuffle this chronologically?

Beamer and Stef to be tested and a few others who didn't play last week due back.

Stef Martin (hip) - test

Brent Moloney (groin) - test

-----------------------------------------

James Strauss (leg) - 2 weeks

Colin Sylvia (back) - 3 weeks

-----------------------------------------

Lucas Cook (groin) - 2 weeks

Rory Taggert (back) - 3 weeks

Liam Jurrah (wrist) - 3 weeks

Jordan Gysberts (ankle) - 3 -5 weeks

-----------------------------------------

Neville Jetta (ankle) - indefinite

Michael Evans (back) - indefinite

Max Gawn (knee) - season

-----------------------------------------

I find it easier to read this way.

Eleven out of the squad of 46 are on the injury list - that's nearly 25% of our squad. At the moment we haven't got enough suitable players at Casey to replace all the out-of-form players in the Firsts.

Last week we were so short of players at Casey, Kyle Mathews had to ring his brother to see if he wants a game along with another ring in to make up the numbers in the 2nds...

That stat is never mentioned by the media when they can us for losing. 3-4 good players can make a big difference.

Didn't see N.Jones at training today. Beamer didnt train went straight to rooms after initial warmup. Stef trained entire session looked little bit sore though. Would expect Couch to debut.

wouldn't most other teams have about 10 players injured at any given time?

The number of players missing last weekend was actually 15 but a couple like Aaron Davey and Josh Tynan weren't injured but rather rested. Davey wasn't selected for Casey but arrived back in Melbourne on a late flight with Tynan who also did not play for Casey. Dan Nicholson was under a club suspension.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
