Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

It was more Brad Green shooting from the hip again.

We would all like to see him recapture any form, and we are crying out for a small forward, however, despite what Neeld says - he has obviously been struggling this pre-season and I would not put too much expectation on him being a defensive forward, a role that requires a great deal of pace and mobility, too early in the season.

I agree with what the vocal Green says in the article regarding Davey putting pressure on in the forward line defensively. But I'd prefer to take Neeld's stance on being a "suck it and see" by seeing him down back, middle or forward during NAB Cup.

Let the coach be the one who is transparent.

Of all the players in the squad since Neeld was announced coach Davey is the one i am worried about most

Neeld is a no nonsense coach and will have definate plans for Davey

Davey has to play to his strengths and the one that might be hardest to overcome is his confidence

we all know how effective the Flash can be but who is to say he is currently in Neelds best 22

Neeld isnt interested in past reputations only what he sees on the track

He selected the Captains and Leadership group on demonsttrated ability and it will be the same ingredients when picking the team

the only guy that can stop Davey being in our best 22 and play where Neeld wants him to play is Davey himself

Like Sylia Davey will come to a fork in the road this year although it will have 2 paths backwards and one forward

Hope he chooses forward

Hard to second guess Neeld but would be very suprised if it was not a forward or back pocket

maybe the designated kicker in defence

I am certainly concerned that Aaron could turn out to be another "coodabeen" something special throughout a career, but wasn't.

It will be up to him to get over the injuries and over the sulks if he really wants to be part of what looks like a genuine excitement machine going into 2012 and beyond.

Question remains: doe he really want it now, or would he just like it?

It sounds as if Sam Blease may well be seriously challenging for the 'crumbing forward, with pressure' role.

I think we will know next week if the Coach will stick to his word that you must earn your spot in the team.

If Davey gets a game after his performance today itt will all be just words and same soft approach as coach's before him. He must not even be on bench, 2 to 3 weeks at least in the Vfl.

This performance and attitude can no longer be accepted.

Davey is a joke of a player these days he has lost all of his pace and has a pea heart

And should not to be in the team for the rest of the year, he has no interest other than getting his pay check

Trade him for 2nd/ 3rd rounder

Honestly, I'd give him a chance next week on the off chance he was struggling to get his head in the right space today.

If he produces the same, drop him to Casey for 3-4 weeks minimum.

He had a disgraceful season last year, crapping his pants often at the sight of a contest.

Today he had to make amends, and he didn't.

If it's good enough for Tynan, Magner and McKenzie to throw themselves head first at a contest, it's good enough for Davey. If it's not, he needs to go away and fast.

And it's a real shame, because he is one of the very few players on our list with actual talent.

Perhaps I'm being harsh, but I thought Tynan was pretty soft on a couple of occasions. Shirked the contest.

I thought he was pretty good. Didn't panic under pressure and went hard. Maybe it's just me trying to find some silver lining.

Also, he looks 5 years old and weighs about 8kgs wet.

I did not see a single one of these. Do you know his number?

Of the small forwards today, Davey at least showed some enthusiasm on the chase. Blease was disgusting defensively and should be first dropped IMO. Davey wasn't great but the skill level generally is a bigger issue. He and Watts were the only ones that looked like hitting a target all day.

Must be dropped.

Pathetic. I lament over Morton's style of play and Davey is playing the same now. We can not have players who are not willing to go when it's their turn. Too many times he hangs around the contest waiting for the handball receive out the back instead of getting the pill for himself.

He has lost his pace too, and that was one of his biggest weapons.

Thanks for the service, delist at end of season. Same can be said for Green. The game has passed both of them by.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
