Just announced that Addam Maric has been offered an opportunity to train with Tigers.

Interesting to note that seven clubs have applied to the AFL for permission for players to train.

MFC are not one of the seven.

AFL clubs give delisted players opportunity to train before draft.

I think you are spot on however it was thought he would go to North at draft time. Tigers may end up at having two Marics come start of season time.

Reckon its probably good to start just with the players already listed - get those boys going, then bring in the "permission to train" players a few weeks later when the players already on our list are flying. It'd better show the unlisted players exactly what they need to do to possibly earn a spot.

With Maric its probably different because he has been around before and knows what preseason is all about.

When are the lists officially lodged/released? Every monday/tuesday?

Maric did mention in a puff-piece article on the weekend this year was the first year he did a full pre-season, so I guess this would make it only his second full go at it.

Hard to believe he is still only 21! Good luck to everyones favorite emo if he gets a go somewhere else, I can just see the blurb now "The best pure kicker in the draft", "A solution to our teams crumbing needs" etc etc.

They off load Nason & then look interested in Maric? Interesting.....

You raise a valid point. Nason in his initial year showed pace and accuracy.I also thought they had enough small forwards. Training doesn't guarantee a listing though!

Maric has the scope for midfield or half forward flank, i wouldnt call him a small forward at all

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
