not having a go at you, but my sister was a nympho and it didn't help me at all

What, you wanted to sleep with your sister?

Seriously, if one can be after that post, how would her being one help you anyway, if she really was?

Anyone know the times they set? MN said he wanted the mids to be doing low 10's or 9's. How close did they get?

Well, Jack Trengove tweeted about 3 hours ago:

"No shock to hear@nathan2jones crossing the line 1st in the 3km time trial this morning. Sub 10min in movember is impressive."

Dislike the new training tops. Who designs these things

They're awful aren't they? ... Worst we've had in quite a few years. The red looks brown. Even last year's dodgy M T-shirts were better. Damnit!

I played cricket with guys who could go sub 10, and they weren't full time athletes...

From memory some of the elite runners in the AFL get low 9's (Judd could run 9m 20s ?)...

To put that in perspective, the world record for the 3000 metres is 7m 20...

All our mids / running players should be around the 10 minute mark...

Bet they weren't built like Jones though. Or Bail or McDonald for that matter. But I do agree with you, if you are serious about playing in the midfield at AFL level you have to be around or below 10. Jones and Bail are there, Moloney wasn't too far off.

Where are Sylvia, McKenzie, Trengove and Gysberts. Well I think Trenners would be around there, and McKenzie and Sylvia are in the rehab group, and I think Gysberts has a bit of work to do.

I'd like to see more of the half backs and half forwards up there. Howe and Dunn obviously have tanks based on their performance, as does Nicholson. But we need Strauss, Grimes, Bennell, Petterd, Morton all busting out big times, problem is a lot of them are in the rehab group.

From the replies earlier it is 3.2 kms, so that should add about 30 seconds to the 3 km time. May not seem like much, but 10 minutes would be average for 3km, but very good for 3.2.

You made, at best, a very weird post. I'm pretty sure it has been seen by most as seriously creepy. If I was you I would lay low for a few days and hope it blows over.

Chris Judd broke Carlton's 3.2km time trial record in 2007 with a time of 10:30

I'm say anything under 10min would be elite for an AFL midfielder.

This is week 1 of pre-season. I'd expect every one of our midfielders by the end of pre-season to be looking to be under 10min 15 seconds.

For the record, the i know for certain that the following players on our list run beep-tests above 15= Morton, Trengove, Bate, Dunn, Bail, Jones, Bartram, Grimes,

I can't see how anyone could misinterpret his intention without being purposely mischievous or seriously obtuse.

It appears you can add Nicholson to that list. Probably spent all his holidays training, which is exactly what I'd be doing if I were gunning for a position on the senior list.

It is definitely not Tom McDonald on the footage. Tom is much taller than this guy.

From what I saw, there is a small glimpse of a warm down at the start of the footage and that guy is in track pants and is also in a red top different to every player. I would assume he is involved in some capacity as a fitness coach.

I would post a picture but I have no idea how.

It's not Tom. Watch the video of them running around the oval as a pack (0:13s) - you'll see Mcdonald in a blue top with Bate, Jamar and Davis, whilst the guy in the red is further back and he is definitely shorter than the rest (and looking at his watch - pretty sure he is some sort of fitness guy).

Okay. Let's talk about how the team is going on the field instead.

Oh wait...

Sorry.

That was more of a frustrated remark with no explanation of what I meant.

Here is an explanation.

I hope people don't think that finishing top whatever in a 3km time trial means they are in for a top year, or that they are going to be a champion in years to come, or that we've got a 'keeper'.

Again I will ask the Morton lover's.

Where is this 'elite running ability'?

Where the feck was he?

This is what I heard:

PART A: "Getting a good 3k result doesn't mean you'll have a good year."

PART B: "Cale Morton didn't get a good 3k result, therefore he must not have any good qualities at all."

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
