SCULLY CONTINUES TO DENY GWS MOVE

At the Greater Western Sydney press-conference held yesterday to announce his signing, new recruit Tom Scully continued to deny that he had a made a final decision about his playing future.

“No, I haven’t signed – I’m just up here to have a look” declared Scully as he posed for a promotional photo in his new kit with coach Kevin Sheedy.

Funny that - because Kevin Sheedy said to a stack of my mates on the Friday before the Monday (on which Scully allegedly 'made' his decision) that GWS would be announcing at midday on Monday that Scully had joined GWS. And guess what - that's exactly what happened.

Scully has no credibility in relation to this. I hope that even the Scully cheerleaders on this site now recognise this.

To be honest Id rather not see any more Scully threads on here, had a gut full of hearing about him.

Doesn't necessarily make Scully the liar. Maybe it was the coach who was telling porkies at the time and he got lucky.

Maybe his minders made the decision 12 months early but forgot to tell young Huckleberry... and he thought he did this all by himself? Tsk Tsk.

There is only one Scully.

She's a redhead, and an FBI agent...

Nice one RPFC!

As I recall, Agent Scully was a sceptic who did not believe in aliens. If Traitor $cully tows agent Scully's line then he is in for a hard time staying on good side of Coach Sheedy who speaks with aliens regularly!

Scully? Do you mean the two first round draft picks plus jack viney plus salary cap room for pendlebury at the end of 2012? Oh yeah, pity

If Scully averages 25 possessions next year and plays all 22 games he will earn in excess of $3,600 per possession.

I think we can do better than that with our money.

All the things you mentioned are icing on the cake for us.

A little bird told me that Mr. Scully Senior sold his business and now has a role working for the Sydney Swans in the development of junior talent but will soon switch to a similar role with another club located not far away from the Swans.

The little bird told me that this was all done some time ago which might mean the decision was made well before the family went up to Sydney just "to have a look around". In fact it's very possible according to the Chinese whisperers that fat Phil's new job is the steak knives to the deal which was hatched up almost a year ago.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

I just don't understand this place sometimes. People get upset when their posts are deleted because they make crass references to Cale Morton being soft in the name of "humour", then whinge when someone posts something that is obviously harmless satire. My senseofhumourometer must be calibrated differently to everyone else, because I found the article pretty funny.

From the White Maggot, just for something funny......

Scully continues to deny GWS-move at press conference announcing signing

"I have not made a decision yet"

At the Greater Western Sydney press-conference held yesterday to announce his signing, new recruit Tom Scully continued to deny that he had a made a final decision about his playing future.“No, I haven’t signed – I’m just up here to have a look” declared Scully as he posed for a promotional photo in his new kit with coach Kevin Sheedy.

When passed a message from his manager scribbled on the back of a freshly minted $100 note informing him that the jig was up, Scully recanted. “I saw this as an opportunity to come up here to be part of a brand new football club with the best financial planning facilities in the country.”

Scully had been in Sydney, the home of the ASX and Australia’s funds management industry, visiting GWS’ facilities on Sunday with a touring party consisting of his family and other key advisers including Chris Judd, Gary Ablett, Nathan Bock and Judas Iscariot.

Scully also took the opportunity to dismiss suggestions that the drawn out saga was a charade, manufactured by his management to give the impression that he was still weighing up his decision. “That’s completely unfair. That’s not what I, nor my management had ever intended. We always saw the process as more of a farce or sham.”

hehe there's some great material on that white maggott website, i like this one too

"In a public relations coup for the largely irrelevant organisation, the North Melbourne Football Club was named Australia’s leading not-for-profit organisation at the annual SHUNPROFIT awards overnight.

The Kangaroos beat home The Smith Family, MS Australia, World Vision and a raft of community-based West African NGO’s to take out the coveted prize.

Club president James Brayshaw said the award recognised North Melbourne’s steadfast commitment to maintaining a steadily increasing and unsustainable defecit for the past thirty years.

“No other club could’ve operated under these conditions” Brayshaw said as stared at the black hole which doubles as the club’s balance sheet. “And I’m not speaking out of pride… we haven’t been a going concern since 1997… legally, no other club could’ve operated under these conditions… we’ve just somehow slipped through the cracks.”

Brayshaw, who earlier this year was investigated by ASIC after he attempted to treat the “shinboner spirit” as an intangible asset for the purposes of the club’s financial reports, then took the opporunity to launch the Kangaroos’ innovative 2012 funding campaign.

“I’m proud to announce that from 2012 the North Melbourne Football Club will be treated as a charity for the purposes of the Income Tax Assessment Act” Brayshaw said. “It’s only fair given we’ve fed, clothed and sheltered Nathan Grima and Scott Thompson all these years.”

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
