At least we have C Gar to help him through.

Poor kid. Just not fair sometimes.

Let him train with the Melbourne Storm- that may help.

Not such a silly idea, it would be great to get some of that Melbourne Storm "Steel Spirit" at the MFC. Look at what happened to them last year, had to play the season for zero points. Did it with mass dignity, & now this year they are back up top straight away.

Bellamy brings in young cast offs and older players who have lost their way & consistently turns them around.

Regardless of code Bellamy is a football club Genius, i did hear Garland say that a few of the storm boys spoke to our club last week...We should share more knowledge.

Can we all stop talking about career ending injuries RIGHT NOW!!!

Grimes is not Egan. He will make a full recovery and will be running around getting injured again in no time!

Oh Grimesy, you are like the new Rivers. I'm feeling the need for another signature counter. Number of seasons uninjured= 0 :(

This club seriously cannot catch a break sometimes. Losing Grimes for the year is a massive blow.

It was confirmed on 10 news tonight that Jack Grimes will miss the remainder of the season

OMG OMG OMG. I just noticed an Injury Rumour thread other than this one . Quick Whispering Jack go and assert your dominance on that thread!

In this day and age alot of people know alot of people. If a person is confident in what they preach, they are 100% entitled to withhold their sources from people they have never met.

The disdain that some people showed a new poster trying to pass on information about the club that he had heard and nice enough to share is a disgrace.

5000 posts on a site doesn't mean you're a better or more informed supporter than the next person.

You'll find that those posters with between 1000 and 2000 posts are generally the more informed and articulate posters B)

In between 1400 to 1500 to be exact? ;)

I've been harping on for Jack Grimes to be named in the middle to give him a run, saw him there in the opening bounce and nearly wet myself.

A massive shame to see him go down with this injury and prematurely cut off what I believe would have paid off naming Grimes in the middle against Adelaide.

However when one door closes, another one opens. This isn't our year to be aiming for top 4 even top 8, sure position progress is great up the ladder - but I'm just as excited to see who could be named

in our squad and make a real impact. i.e Tapscott.

That being said if I were Bailey I would give any one of our younger players a shot instead of bringing back Cale Morton straight into the side. Whether that would be Evans, Nicholson, Blease etc.

Better this injury happen now than 4 years down the track when we are looking at finals contentions.

It's really disappointing to hear he's picked up a serious injury.

I hope he can recover in the manner Garland has.

Good post. would almost agree with your sentiments word for word. Also best to do it now in the season than second half of 2011

Horrid luck for him and the club. I hope it is not a bad one and looking forward to see him back next season. I'm hopeful someone will step up. If we have true character something like shown last Sunday we should carry on. If we don't it wont make any difference anyway.

Wouldn't mind giving Blease a run actually. Him or possibly Evans. Not so sure about Nicholson just yet.

Does not have to be like Egan. Clint McKay of Victorian and Australian cricket fame has the same injury which was done earlier in the year and he has been back running again and is expected to be fine and I think fast bowlers put a lot more pressure through their feet then footballers in terms of impact. Its a slow rehab process because as soon as you get some pain you have to stop running and rest again.

Why is it some players in all clubs, just have bad run with injury's then you get someone like Brett Kirk who plays for years without missing a game, not to mention Yze. Some guys just have no luck.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
