6. Moloney - Outstanding. Hard at it, threw himself at everything and was a genuine clearance winner. A performance that we expect from our leaders.

5. Tapscott

4. Trengove

3. Martin

2. Jamar

1. Grimes - Could've polled better but for poor kicking.

Apologies to Col Garland. Kept Goodes to just 1 behind and 4 disposals after being torched in the first half.

Was hard to put Grimes there with some of those kicks, but he took some great, very important marks. Trenners was class all day. Hard to believe its only his 2nd year!

6. Brent Moloney. Great combo with Jamar.

5. Col Garland. Shut out a rampaging Goodes. Swans would've killed us if Goodes didn't get shut. Very good game.

4. Mark Jamar. he's not AA for no reason.

3. Jack Trengove. Stud. Best young midfield talent we have.

2. Luke Tapscott. Good kick and decision maker. Strong mark.

1. Stef Martin. Encouraging.

0. Aaron Davey. Needs to do more as a senior player.

-1. Jared Rivers. An absolute MARE.

I see that titan-uranus has MacDonald in his best 6. titan, you must have been taking crack at the time. His disposal and decision making today were horrible.

Disagree wholeheartedly; in fact I'm astonished I'm the only one who thinks this. I sincerely thought MacDonald was great today. Continually cut off Sydney inside-50s, made space, ran hard, linked up, and created two or three goals from his direct work in defence.

Just like Grimes, his kicking wasn't exactly fantastic, but the rest of his work, I thought, was damn good.

Honorable mention to the lads in the box too with use of the sub. Petterd looked extremely dangerous for the quarter he was on, while we were able to remove the impotent Maric (who I'd persevere with for now btw). Martin being a contributor for the game (and therefore not needing to be subbed off) was a massive plus as well.

dishonorable mention. Top ten player sat on the bench for three quaters, one of the poor decions that cost us the game. Terrible decision.

Good game. Jamar is so important. Touch wood he is injury free for 2011. Good on Luke Tapscott. Loved his first game, Moloney was very active and played really well as was Trengove. Bennell had a very good game, kept running - his sprint and goal on the run nearly brought a tear to the eye. Love seeing that when the after burners are turned on. Garland played quite well too.

Special mentions to a few. Jones & Sylvia were good at times - helped out Moloney in the clearances which were important as I thought would be the case. Overall a good game with plenty of contests and a high intensity. Davey played well too. I think we sometimes mark guys like Davey & Sylvia hard as we expect to play at a high level all the time. They just missed votes.

Petterd (the sub) was very impressive when given the green light by Bailey. Forgetting a host of other players but was pleased first up. One exception was Jamar's kick for goal late. Should nail them.

Tapscott bumped above Martin for that bump alone. Honestly, even the hollowness of a draw couldn't wipe the smile I got from that moment off my face.

Jamar below Garland for that miss.

Special mentions to Bennell (jeez he's quick!) and Green.

Also, dishonorable mentions for Rivers and MacDonald.

Agreeing with HT, in that we mark Davey and Sylvia hard. However, since Hank won't get Charlie votes, I couldn't give him any of mine, considering I've got an avocado on him to win it.

6 - Moloney ( the Jamar/Moloney centre clearances - wow)

5 - Tappy - (my ribs ache)

4 - Trengove ( love those floating across the front of the pack marks)

3 - Jamar ( the Moloney/Jamar centre clearances - wow)

2 - Bennell - (doesnt look fast until he does)

1 - Martin - (stong one grab clunks - yes he can mark)

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
