Settle down folks

Collingwood can't win, the colliwobbles will strike again

Much much better to have the filth make the grand final and fail again, hopefully by a bad umpiring decision with a Aints goal after the siren, or anything suitably controversial

Couldn't possibly hate the Aints more than the Filth

I voted for the 'other' option in the poll because I was thinking along the same lines. It would be perfect if the pies led all day and were robbed by a terrible decision.

My favourite scenario is Saints down by 5 points with seconds remaining ... Milne (I know we all hate him but so do pies supporters) plays on from a mark 50m out along the boundary... he tries to fake the kick and sidestep a defender but gets grabbed by the jumper... pies supporters are screaming for "ball"... Daisy Thomas comes flying across to help but Milne ducks under his swinging arm which misses by at least a foot... Milne buckles at the knees and goes down as if shot... umpire pays the free for too high... Milne bounces up to his feet immediately and lines up the shot after the siren... after going without a kick all day he launches a barrel which sails over the top of a goal post... with pies players screaming and pleading right in her face the female goal umpire signals a goal. PIES LOSE!!!

Yes... there is something wrong with me.

I like saying this to stir Pigpie supporters:

"Out of all his folk,

Travis Cloke,

Is the biggest joke."

And so I refer to him as Travis Joke or Trav Joke or T. Joke. :)

to lose to a dubious free kick in front of goal late in 4th quarter would be terrific.

I hope the pies lose obviously but i want it to hurt them. one positive of the pies becoming the premier team of the competition is that when the dees develop we will either form a strong rivalry (we have proved we can perform against them) or we will be the team that takes the reins of them like they unfortunately seem to be doing to geelong

My thoughts exactly.A '66 finish this year and a '64 finish in the near future would be glorious.

Cloke to miss from 25 metres out straight in front after the siren.

I chose other. It's a big "IF" because as we well know Colligwood are epic failures when it comes to GF's. Having said that I would like to see them loose it Storm style but within a month after lifting the cup while they were still enjoying it and their memories were still fresh.

Much prefer collingwood over those retarded st kilda players. I cant wait to see goddard, riewoldt and kozchitzke all crying on the G next Saturday. I would support anyone over those st kilda freaks

Lose key players to injury early in the game. Then to just lose. I don't care how.

We the MFC have hated Collingwood for about 120 years. They deserve nothing.

Can't stand the Saints and their "Saints footy' but my hatred of the Pies runs deep in my core .

Will never forget my introduction as a kid to Victoria Park . Greeted at the turnstyles by a retarded bloke in a wheelchair telling me to "F#$% off Melbourne !":wacko:

As for the game , would love a couple of key injuries and then relentless atrocious kicking for the rest of the game .

Looking forward to seeing Malthouse in tears again .

I would so love to see a mini coll&*() "empire" destroyed by the rising Dee's. Say they get to the next 4 GFs (2010 to 2013), win one (this year or next - who cares) and then loose the following 2 to the Dee's, with the following year (2014) seeing them sack McGuire, Malthouse and Buckley and finish last.

On second thought it would be even better if they got to the next 4 GFs and lost all of them. The rest of above I'd leave the same.

Yes... there is something wrong with me.

Would be great, but my heart couldn't take it.

I voted other because as much as I hate both clubs, I just want to see a straight forward 5 goal loss to Collin%^&&$.

Much prefer the pies win. Take the childish hatred of all there stupid supporters! I don't like them but i respect them. They play better footy and are exciting to watch. St Kilda are not, there boring to watch and over rate many players! Did anyone else see Fisher duck his head when trying to mark last night!

Id like to see collingwood well in front then at 3/4 time a terrorist threat started by drunken pies supporters sees the game abandoned....with both sides awarded 4pts toward the next season

yes theres something wrong with me too!

I'm a bit torn.

What kind of result is most likely to help my Collingwood supporting friend gradually ease off and make the switch to the Demons?

Also, a poll on Collingwood losing a GF needs to have wholly original options - they are the AFLs groundbreakers, trailblazers and 'outside the box' leaders in finding new ways to lose Grand Finals.

A real breakthrough that might be a win on both these counts would be to win the game, but then have it disallowed for some reason. But that would be bad for football in general so I can't cheer for that.

Hmm... Collingwood to win, but only because a number of St Kilda stars get injured by acts of thuggery. Watch the taste of glory turn to ashes in their mouth...

Nah, I just can't get my mean-spirit going on Grand Final week!

None of the above.

Much as loathing Collingwood is deeply ingrained, given the character profiles of several St.Kilda "stars" I see the Pies as the lesser of two evils.

This is one GF that's a lose-lose.

Sadly, I agree.

I loath Collingwood, and they have their fair share of wankers too, but there are a few St Kilda players who certainly don't ever deserve any kind of success in life, and I can't bring myself to support them on Saturday.

As it stands, I think I'll avoid the game or proceed to drink during the coverage to lessen the feeling of disgust associated with watching those two teams fight for a premiership.

I went to the game on Friday night and it was the greatest atmosphere I have ever encoutered at the footy. The Collingwood chant that went around the MCG was fantastic. Don't care who wins on Saturday, just want to get our club playing finals.

There can be no reason, justification or rationaiisation for supporting Collingwood, wishing them well or, god forbid hoping they win a GF.

I agree. Just because they are popular means absolutely Nothing!!

General Motors Cars are Popular around the world, it doesn't mean they are any good. B)

I support the Melbourne Football Club, god bless it, long live it and all those who play and support it (especially Jim).

I also support the ABCs. Anyone But Collingwood. I am very proud of the fact I went to two Collingwood Grand Fianls against an interstate team and proudly, loudly supported the interstate team (Brisbane). In 2003 I took my camera and nearly got beat up for taking photos of crying Collingwood scum supporters. I loved it!!! This year I want to see Eddie cry. Outside of a Melbourne Flag, a narrow loss to Collingwood in a Grand Final is the second best result.

Go Saints!

Other: yep am also a loss to the filth from a kick after the siren !!! Seems poetic and fitting

go Sainters !!! :))

Ideal scenario is this. Pies have been leading for most of the day, although it has been a struggle. Rooey has been causing havoc but he has been well supported by Schneider and Co, as such Maxwell has been curtailed all day and has only 3 possesions to his name.

It's 30 seconds to go, the Pies lead it by 4 points. Hayes picks it up off the HFF and launches it forward to the Goal Square. Rooey, Kosi and a mob of Magpie defenders form a pack, then Maxwell gently places a hand into the back of Milne. The contact is incidental and has no influence in preventing Milne from competing fairly...however rules are rules and the umpire must pay the free kick to Milne.

He slots it with no trouble, makes an over the top celebration in the face of Maxy who is fuming, he gently pushes Milne on the shoulder to get him out of his face...again the contact is incidental and has no influence on Milne's ability to celebrate...however Rules are rules and the Umpire must award a secondary shot on goal as the contact was deemed high and after the play. Milne slots his second, the siren goes, Saints win by 8 points!!

Posted

Naaahhhh. Pies trailing by 3 points with seconds to go. Didak gets it in a big huddle 20 meters out from goal. He turns, he twists, and kicks over his own shoulder as three saints converge to bury him. The ball flies high and true through the big sticks, as the siren sounds. The Pies fans go wild.

And the umpire signal "touched off the boot".

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
