It's definitely still there.

I wonder who else is meeting him and in what context. Would be kinda weird if the club said to Ricky, "young man, go stalk Jack Viney, buy him a kids meal at Maccas and bring him to us".

Wrong again-- he was being taken to Hungry Jack's--

Is Petterd going over the border to meet him??? Bad feeling that Ricky's going to be traded to Adelaide now...

a) No one knows who went where; and

b ) I hope that was sarcasm.

Good piece in the Sun today about Chris Connolly and Jack Viney at the Freo Cats game last week. It said that Chris put the "hard tag" on young Jack all afternoon.

We apparently brought his family over for the game.

It is clear how important we view this boy and there is no doubt we are putting in the big effort to get him.

Given all of the circumstances I feel confident he will become a Demon in a couple of years.

PS. He was also pictured in a red and blue jumper as well.

Nice pic, but I didn't know he was a Hawthorn supporter. Last paragraph:

Viney, who picked up 40 possessions in May as a bottom-age player for North Adelaide's U-18s, is a Hawthorn supporter.

Yeah, I knew that. But Jack being a Hawthorn fan kind of complicates all the blarney about Jack getting around in a Demons jumper.

I believe that he's also said that he has had a "soft spot" for Melb and Adelaide. Also, I believe he's been pretty comfortable with the fact that he's been going to become a Demon for some time, hence the readiness to be photgraphed in a Dees guernsey. I see that as quite a positive.

Well, I imagine he supported the hawks in his younger days as much as Scully supported the tigers.

When it comes to playing in the AFL, often these allegiances are discarded, and when there's a realistic chance of being an AFL player, the kids don't allow themselves to get too attached in the first place.

And I also think that would be a fact garnered a long time ago that is still used.

I doubt they asked him about it just recently - his views may have changed on the matter.

Non- factor.

I dont think we have much to worry about.

His dads a legend of the club

He already has mates that play at the club

He's meeting our officals and players

He's allowing pictures of him posing In a Dees jumper

The clubs on the way up on and off the feild..

It's just a matter of time guys.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
