I'm not. Just following the report in the Hun. Don't tell me Robbo got it wrong again ?

Has this anything to do with it Redleg - from the C.Brown thread ?: -

Hawthorn get Burgoyne.

Port get pick 9 and Jamar.

Melb get Brown.

Hadn't heard that one. Has a nice ring to it. How old is Brown? Hawthorn also need a ruckman. Could be some interesting hours ahead.

It was only a hypothetical I put on the Campbell Brown thread.

Have heard nothing from anyone, purely a desire for MFC to get involved on my behalf

There is rumour on 'ology that he has been traded (no details for whom or what) to Port. IMO would be very bad unless for round 1 or Burgoyne.

Yeah, with no link or proof. About 20 posters scrounged around for facts, None surfaced. Rumour quickly squashed.

One of the biggest thrills I got yesterday was seeing Mark Jamar beat the daylights out of Jolly. winning 33 hit outs (including 15 centre hit outs) as opposed to the Magpie’s 18.

The 26-year-old also claimed 25 disposals and took five marks, including three contested in the draw against the Magpies. His efforts drew praise from Bailey post-match.

Further to this,Luke Darcy says- I’ve watched Mark Jamar quite a bit this season and I think he’s the most improved player in the competition. He had career-high numbers - 25 possessions and 33 hit-outs - against Collingwood and stood up in the big moments. He was against quality opposition in Darren Jolly and Josh Fraser and he took them apart for the second time this season. For me he’s a standout who’s improved his game more than anyone else going around. He’s big, strong and, without much support in the ruck department at Melbourne, seems to have really developed this year.

I agree- Do you. He would have to be close to being the leader in our B& F so far this year.

agreed!

he surely has to be up there for the b&f.

ill admit, i did have my doubts about him at the start of the year but i am so happy he has proved me wrong.

i thought it would be hard to find/develope another good ruckman in time after white but we have found the answer.

at the start of the year i thought who will be our number one ruckman and i thought that would be the strongest thing we lack of and our poor in

but i have now forgotten about the ruck situation and now its all about getting the forward line right!!

"found the answer", we've got a better one. Simon Madden-esque.

There is A Bloke form Richmond that has improved more

but, he would be next in line for me at this

point off the season.

I doubt that very many around here will disagree with you jayceebee. I just hope that the recent rumours about 'Rush' signing on for a further two years are well founded.

If you're talking about Riewoldt, you're joking.

Compare Jamar's season so far to his last few.

I agree he is having a fabulous year. Can't wait in a couple of years time seeing him and Max Gawn running around. If gawn is anything like he is looks like being, it will be an awesome combination.

One question I have about "the Russian". I don't understand why he does not kick more. He is a long relatively accurate kick, especially for goal. He took a couple of marks within about 60 meters of goals and handed them off (admittedly one to Garland which he dobbed from 50 out). When he did kick for goal in the last quarter from about 40m out, it sailed through half way up the goal posts, probably a 55m kick.

He could develop into a very dangerous Ruck/forward, especily if his marking keeps on improving.

jamar has proven me wrong...i was wrong about him. i'm glad he's still with melbourne. i think he's probably suprised himself this year. i heard an interview with jamar after the game yesterday...he said he's enjoying being the number one ruckman for melbourne. he said it wasn't to long ago when he was struggling for game time with jeff white being around.

opposition ruckman/teams are now planning on how to beat a single ruckman who is dominating.

i take my hat off to jamar...i hope he keeps running out the games as well as he is.

I think he takes a little too long about it to be a great field kick. He's a very nice set shot, so when he takes a grab in the forward 50 I prefer to see him take the shot, but in general play he's better off giving off to someone a little quicker.

Great Game from the Big Russian. Geez he was knackered & Devastated during the Post Match Interview.

I like seeing Blokes Bleeding for the Jumper. It means they really want to get better at the Game & as a team.

I read his attitude as being p**ssed off that we didn't win that game rather than being just knackered.

Reiwoldt's stats are not that great. Has been getting one extra kick on average and is kicking an extra 0.3 of a goal on average (if that's possible!)

Jamar's stats improvement and game domination are significantly better.

I read his attitude as being p**ssed off that we didn't win that game rather than being just knackered.

he was p**ssed off at himself, he said something like if i was in the right position on jolly they wouldnt have got the goal, he was almost in tears he was that disappointed at his one mistake, which he felt cost the team the win, i think that is the attitude you want at a club, he bleeds red and blue.

also i was talking to my old man about how good jamar was, and a bloke that past by said, lucky the trade to port adelaide didnt go through, he informed me that at the start of the year it was all but confirmed apart from jamar saying he wanted to stay in the red and blue, has anyone heard anything about that?

It is my opinion that Jamar is currently the most important player in our club? He defines the centre clearances and will be pivotal with the progress of our younger brigade --- your thoughts?

Agreed Jaycee...there couldn't be much doubt that he is our most important player. I believe that we have improved out of sight at the clearances and this is all attributed to Russian with a bith of help from his mate Beamer!! A great double act.....Beamer has been doing a damn fine Todd Viney impersonation this year!

It broke my heart listening to his interview with Andy Maher (bad enough that it was that muppet), he wanted it so badly. He could not have done any more, he was completely spent at the end and he was shown his critics just what he's made of.

Chin up Mark, you were sensational.

The RUSSIAN is a big reason why our midfield is starting to be more competitive. He is giving them a good chance at a centre clearance.

His signature is important. 12 months ago he was in trouble, now hw would command a top 20 pick in a trade!- Of course, we will keep him instead of trading.

If he does decide to go elsewhere, we will get great value for him.

Most improved player at the MFC and top 5 MIP in the AFL.

The boys will get more positive on that game as the week progresses.

Collingwood didn't win, and that is always a good thing.

And all the guys from the 1960 side would have been mighty proud of this "new" club.

The Russian gave his all (reminds me of the way Jim Stynes used to play actually)

Hold your head up Mark.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
