He wasn't on the 'permission to train list' from memory, but then again, I'm not sure how often this is updated by the AFL or if you can simply add players given clearance on a daily basis.

Regardless, I don't think we need him.

Ha! When i first Joined Demonland Kane Tenace was the "Buzz" Player we had to have....Now he can't even be collected from the nature strip as hard rrubbish!!

Who would want the Recruiters Jobs-Bloody Nightmare isn't it.....I Pray that BP & Tim Harrington & co get it "mostly" right on the 26th....

Can't kick can't get it enough.

Gets it enough sometimes but then again, anyone with the merest modicum of ability is going to get his hands on the footy going around with those Geelong blokes. Doesn't do enough with his kicks which lack precision and depth and I really think he would flounder and possibly end up a major league list clogger with us.

Is it too optimistic to hope that if Tenace is training with the Demons it is as a some kind of cautionary tale?

- High draft pick doesn't not equal guaranteed success.

- Failure to improve skills does equal delisting.

I have seen much worse than Tenace play at AFL level. He is alright, but I really cannot see him addressing a need for the MFC. He has less of an upside than Simon Buckley who was let go, signing Tenace would make no sense.

How does he have less upside than Simon Buckley?

In my mind they might as well be the same player; though I admit I've seen a lot less of Tenace than Buckley.

If I ever see another post with the word 'thoughts?' as the first, last or the only word in your case...

"I'll rip your bloody arms off!"

(With apologies to Auntie Jack).

Maxi Bob. Thankyou for your contribution to the thread and your 'thoughts'...

.....on Kane Tenace.

Tenace is quick. Scully is quicker. That's my contribution. ;)

Very similar.

Quick, flaky disposal and decision making skills with questionable defensive capability.

The other issue with Buckley is any linger groin problems (The fact that he has been pictured in a NM training guernsey) does not mitigate that issue.

thoughts?

That your mail has proven to be very reliable - perhaps Demonland deegirl?

A fringe player in a champion team is not necessarily a dud and it's facile to assert that. He's potentially a pretty good player, but it's very hard to break into that midfield. He's excctly the right age and he has pace, which when I look at our 2010 best 22 even with Brock gone and Ball not arriving, is a problem.

Look at Farren Ray, he made a significant contribution at St.Kilda. I think Tenace could add value.

In the long run the problem is that we're aiming to be the next Geelong so that would see him at the fringes and Ray failed in the GF. But there's the possibility that he becomes a more effective player in his late 20s.

I'm definitely interested.

I can't believe people are actually interested in Kane Tenace.

Kane Tenace...

Come on, now. Tenace was on their list before they became a powerhouse, and he failed to do anything of note then either.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
