Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

No, you're a defeatist.

Plus you like to hand pick things to support your view, such as ignoring the 10 wins we've had this year and the ability to stay in the season when so many other teams would have crumbled under the pressure of so many injuries.

No i am not a defeatist. You don't know me at all

i have watched the MFC fall over many many times since 1971, they are experts at failing to convert.

Hand pick?? WTF are you on about

who else hasn't beaten Nought for 11 years?

did you see their putrid first half last night?

Only the MFC can be a bit.ch to that club

Of course I don't know you.  I just go by how you post on here.

I'll ignore the 'watching since forever' rubbish as it means little to me.

And yes, you hand pick.  Even in the above you start waffling on about North, even though it had nothing to do with what we were talking about.  It's your classic posting strategy; you deflect well and drum up other stuff to cover your tracks.

I've seen the putrid first half, I saw last week and I've also seen the courageous wins over the Eagles and the Crows on their home deck.  Which side are you on?  Obviously on the one we've seen in the last two weeks.  I'll hang on to the team that defied some adversity and gave us some terrific wins.  I'll back them in to turn it around, you can start thinking about next year.

I knew Jack was going to be poor after his injury after I saw that he had taken a mid week holiday to Byron Bay to shoot clips for his boardshorts label. Tells you a bit about where footy fits in his life.

He has never had footy as his #1 priority in his life. He's never been like Viney who lives and dies by footy, and he never will. He has never wanted to be the centre of attention. Deal with it.

Someone who does and has gone badly missing the second half of the year is Petracca. He needs to lift big time, be it as midfield relief or (where we need him contributing more) as a forward.

Waffling on about North has a lot to do with where we are right now

2 losses in 2017...

but to you it is pointless

Yep, that's exactly what I'm doing.

Petracca is quietly staying out of the firing line.  His recent games:

- GWS: 3 kicks, 13 handballs.  DE% 43.8.  1 tackle.

- NM: 2 kicks, 15 handballs. DE% 76.5.  1 tackle

There was one passage of play yesterday, 2nd or 3rd quarter when the ball was going toward the boundary line.  I think it was at least 2 GWS players vs our 1.  Petracca was jogging toward them and then slowed up rather than go help his teammate.  It wasn't a good look.

I don't know why he has suddenly become handball happy.  And 1 tackle per game is shocking for a forward.  It is no wonder the ball ricochets straight out of our fwd 50.

None of our fwds are effective right now.  Petracca should also share the responsibility of the complete breakdown of our forward line in the last few weeks.

If you are looking for someone to blame for that first half - Goodwin is your man.

I couldn't believe it when I saw how we were playing Manuka as a local... Just horrendous instruction and the fact we didn't have a loose man in the first quarter lost us the game.

In those conditions you would have a lose man back on any ground 'rp', not just Manuka....

It appears the instruction was to use the outer side (watching from TV), as the wind was pushing the ball that way and to the right of screen. Is this what we should have been doing?

We let them open up the corridor and scoring side way too easily. This is where I would have stationed our spares and kept pushing them to the line and forcing more stoppages and boundary throw in's...this is what they did pretty easily when we had the wind.

All in all I think we played really dumb football, but I also think we have a few dumb footballers in the team.

I've always wanted Jack to do well, to perform well consistently.  But now I've come to see him as consistently mediocre. After around 150 games how many has he dominated? Not many. Is he likely to improve? Probably not. He is what he is I guess.

This may well be the truth ?

By now a player of Jacks talent should be in the leadership group and an All- Australian. He's never had the intensity or application to go to the next level. He teases by giving glimpses and then goes missing to the point of being dropped. I doubt that it will ever be any different - he doesn't have the ticker for the contest or the work ethic that champions are made of. We seem to collect players like this and I for one am sick of it.

Give Jack a break.

His summer range has only just been finalised .

He had to go to Byron to do the casting and pick all the talent.

Some of the girls in the shoot came back out of shape and had to do extra sessions .

It's not easy to run a summer brand in a cold climate.

I don't like the game plan as it relies on playing in perfect conditions all the time where you can handball a lot a get away with it.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
