  1. I’m so over hearing about what other clubs do and how wonderful they are in comparison to us. The grass is always greener etc. Thank you for sharing the above in regards to Collingwood’s organising of their event. Our Club is making a big effort to give our supporters an opportunity to engage with players, they’re providing fun for kids and pretty much everything - bar food and drinks - is free. All this at a point where there’s so much going on and so little time. I don’t imagine anyone will leave Casey disappointed. ❤️💙

  5. Carlton beat us in the 2023 semi. North beat in the 1998 prelim. Hawthorn beat us in the 1988 GF. But we beat them all when it counted in this monumental 2018 tournament.

  6. Six years ago today, history was made when the Demons took home this glamorous piece of silverware. Three years later, we took the big one out for the men and a year later, for the women. Time for some more …

  7. I haven't read or heard either of those statements, is this on the demonland forum? Or other bogus media? Just genuinely curious. I've heard him referred as a premiership player and I suppose in my eyes that makes him a champion of sorts. He is a reliable key backman who has been moved forward and showed very positive signs in a small sample size. He could, IF he can find some consistency with his fitness be the key forward that could make a huge difference to this side. Far too many 'IF's' for my liking, but definitely no unequivocal statements.

  13. What he showed (to me), is that he could realistically be a forward who kicks 30-40 goals in a year, which when combined with JVR, Fritsch, and Kossie’s output, we’d have a formidable forward line.

  17. Yet another plug for the DA (soz all, but in the absence of a traditional Family Day this is our big opportunity to raise funds). Anyways, if you think you’ve at some point in your life had the very best cupcake in the world, think again! Our cupcakes are TO. DIE. FOR. Moist yet still light and fluffy. Delicious whipped icing and unique handmade toppers. Eg… Our DA baker extraordinaire has made toppers with 🏆on them and jumper numbers and myriad other Dees-related things. She’s a cupcake virtuoso. So, her and I were spitballing the other day and we came up with this idea… Why not capitalise on the many Tigers fans in attendance, right? (Of course, I advised her to throw away all the utensils and bowls etc. after making them and to burn the clothes she was wearing. 😝) There’ll also be other just as delish baked items for sale. HAVE AT ‘EM!!!

  18. WTF is even going on here? Gil: Ok, AFLX.. how are we going to promote this? intern: First, we need two dudes in women’s bathers from the 1950’s but with the chest area cut out. And then, we get one of the dudes to stand on the head of the other guy and get him to squat down.

  19. Melbourne Rebels look to be going down the gurgler. (AAMI Park occupant.) https://www.news.com.au/sport/rugby/melbourne-rebels-move-closer-to-folding-with-staff-including-the-ceo-sacked/news-story/4643f8ba6b9e7f4506390a08bf498cad Huge debts, no supporters, board collapsing and in administration. They have a team this season, but require a Government bailout ( $20 million in debt, no funds) to keep going next season. Does this give the MFC some capacity to move our administration staff over to AAMI Park if Rebels collapse? I think they should look at it, as any better facilities seem a way off. At least puts everyone associated with running the club under one roof, for the short term. The move may also help with getting Olympic Park developments, if we go down that path. We would lose any association with the MCC/MCG other than game day arrangements. If we move to a home away from MCG, then that would happen anyway. I reckon it is a good opportunity, at the expense of the Rebels, to take over their offices.

  20. For his parents to watch him play in Adelaide I'd assume they'd need to fly (6 hours by car). There is an airstrip at Wundinna but flying would be by private aircraft. I'm not sure a move to Adelaide would make it all that more convenient for his family. BTW Travis Boak is a friend of mine. He misses his mum Chicki terribly given that he lost his dad to cancer when he was 17 yo. Trav is incredibly loyal to Port and has never contemplated moving back to Victoria. Port have been terrific in regards to Chicki - flying her and Trav's sister Sarah to Adelaide at any time. I suspect the MFC has, and will continue to be, supportive of Harrison in regards to catching up with his family. The events of Oct 17 last year were a beat up by Ch9 Adelaide - click bait.

  21. I suspect that is really good news. I hope it's not a serious nerve injury, and SOOOO glad it's not the Lisfranc. And he has shown when thrown into the forward line before that he doesn't need much time to establish "connection".

  22. Harley Reid and George Wardlaw are currently favourites for the 2024 AFL Rising Star but there are a number of others who will make their claims during the season. With all of the talk about Melbourne’s list starting to age, it’s worth noting that the Demons have the equal highest number of players eligible for this year’s award - 13, along with Geelong, GWS Giants and West Coast. The players in question might not yet be considered leading contenders but one never knows:- Bailey Laurie Taj Woewodin Daniel Turner Caleb Windsor Matthew Jefferson Blake Howes Jed Adams Will Verrall Oliver Sestan Koltyn Tholstrup Kynan Brown Kyah Farris-White Andy Moniz-Wakefield Every player eligible for the 2024 Rising Star Award

  39. As much as I loved to despise Toby Greene over the years for all his infamous antics. I have done the big turnaround. Last season I thought that he did an excellent job as a leader of GWS. Not to mention he is an outstanding player. Geez, I wished they beat Collingwood in the finals. Sooo close
