Misleading headline by the OP. The report stated Pickett expressed some homesickness, but that his management and the club would be able to work through the situation and that Pickett would see out his 3 years remaining.18 points

I would have thought 100% of Dees fans would fully support an independent review of the club. this is the only way to guarantee and end to the talk of our toxic culture and to ensure we actually have the right things in place.17 points

It's surprising how worked up people are getting over an email, as if they don't already receive hundreds of spam emails every day or week. Let's put things in perspective: it's just an email, not someone showing up at your house and digging through your personal belongings. You have options—delete the email if it's not your cup of tea, or take a moment to open it and read what a passionate Dees supporter has to say about the current state of our club. Are you genuinely satisfied with how our club is being managed at the moment? If your answer is "Yes," then I have to say—your indifference or lack of concern for the club's future is contributing to the very issues we're facing. But if you think everything is fine and we don't need an external review, then let me tell you, you might as well prepare to see your favorite players wearing a [censored] Collingwood jumper. That's the level of complacency you're endorsing.16 points

Have a very good non-dees mate who works closely with the local government in the area who reckons this deal is all but done. He doesn't have any details on timelines or costings though. I have no more information and can't vouch for the veracity of the information only to say that I trust his word implicitly. Understand that I am just an anonymous person on the internet so use what ever amount of grains of salt that you need.15 points

Can’t complain about the club not doing better or getting better, while also complaining about people who are trying to make that happen. You cannot review yourself.14 points

We need to invest in a club creche to better support the likes of Kozzie and ANB in their transition to fatherhood and provide space for Christian Petracca to feel loved and nurtured through cuddles and story time.11 points

I know him and he's a very nice guy who is very passionate about the club....just like you and I. I do believe this board needs some accountability and we need an independent review across the entire club. Its a normal and legal process he has gone through to collect emails. Each to their own, but I don't recommend blindly trusting this board, nor should you blindly trust Peter. But do know, he has the best interests at heart. Whilst I don't fully understand it all, to my knowledge, many things he brought up were successful through a court of law.11 points

This 190cm clearance beast has great appeal to me and looks the perfect man to fill a possible void we might have coming up in the club’s midfield. 2024 Coates Talent League: Round 19 POTW One major advantage is that he’s from the Dandenong Stingrays so that any travel to Casey Fields is unlikely to be a chore for him or any social media influencer partner that he might connect with at some time in the future.11 points

There should be automatic financial penalties for players who wish to break contracts. A portion of their future club contract is returned to their previous club as compensation. They still will be well paid anyway so can’t moan about hardship.9 points

I don't particularly care for Peter's approach, although his position on governance and need for review is one that seems now to align with many on here given the shambles of past few weeks But this rubbish with people complaining about Peter exercising his entitlements to communicate with members shows a complete lack of understanding of what you've signed up for... You are a Member of the Club, not a subscriber to a service.9 points

A true champion is one who will go to any lengths to better his team’s performance and who always remembers his roots in the sport. Here are some photographs of Max at Casey Fields starting at the top with a photo of him at the three quarter time huddle with the Casey Scorpions Development Team (reserves) in his first game after recovering from ACL surgery in July 2010 (wearing # 77 if you’re in doubt). Fourteen years later, he’s a premiership captain, a one club player and on his way to his 7th All-Australian honour. A true leader.9 points

With all our own dramas, this event has gone unrecognised. changes-that-helped-greater-western-sydney-giants-star-jesse-hogan-finally-realise-his-potential Rapt for Jesse after a checkered career to date. Great reward for his hard work. Still one of my favourite players. He (and captain Toby) are the only reasons the finals hold any interest. Hope Jesse adds a 🥇 to the Coleman and holds up 🏆8 points

You would have thought so. I am prepared to have a little wager with myself, that if the Pies were in an Elimination final the next week that maybe things might have been a little different. Moore jumped up and took his kick and stayed on the ground. Gus was knocked out cold and yet that wasn’t rough play but Kozzie’s is after a change in movement at the last second by Moore, give me a break.8 points

Like the Petracca stuff I’ll believe it when it comes from the player or the club. Robbo 5 cab savs deep on 360 isn’t a source I rely on.7 points

I know this will have been expressed here numerous times, and likely better, but this outcome has really got my goat. I appreciate Kozzy has been a little reckless from time to time - he plays at the edges etc, and honestly I think he has done well to reign it in a little. But seriously, this punishment is BS!! You can't leave the ground, fine, but now you can't legitimately engage in a bump (which is what Kozzy tried to do, no question), because the other guy may slip/fall to the ground, causing an unintended concussion?? Are we just full outcome mode (depending on player, of course - I won't go into that), regardless of intent or context, because that's what it looks like. What was Kozzy supposed to do? That move is performed dozens of times a week. A legitimate footy act. The chances of a concussion, or having regard to the possibility of a concussion while performing it, are so remote you can't possibly ask Kozzy to turn his mind to it while in the moment. Moore fell, Kozzy's legitimate bump accidentally caused injury - it's an unfortunate reality of a contact sport. If you punish this, there's nothing left. On a side note, it's bemusing that Moore/Maynard have both engaged in 'footy acts' and ended/possibly ended/impacted careers, and have received ZERO weeks COMBINED> WHAT IS GOING ON?????7 points

We can, we can go to the appeals board, which we did with the JVR suspension. I hope we do, but somehow I think the club is juggling so many burning balls, they will let this one drop. Also does Adrian owe us a free session under the "lose 10 hearings, and the 11th is free" deal?7 points

If anyone from the club is reading this forum I’d like to formally put my hand up to be drafted. Admittedly I am 46, and have no left foot, but I can absolutely promise you I have no desire to move closer to my family. Ever.6 points

Should have seen him back in 2013 prior to Neeld sacking. Everything was all sweet and rosy according to him and would constantly criticise anyone who voiced for Neelds sacking during that period. Went awfully quiet afterwards when Neeld got the sack.6 points

Perty, Goody and the boys will no doubt back themselves to get things right. Our culture is absolutely great. It is a total coincidence that one of our players is facing four years for a positive test on gameday, another spent all off-season away from the group and didn't fire a shot this season, our best player will do anything to not come back and our most exciting player and most loyal player have apparently decided in the last few weeks they want to go home. I don't think a Pickett trade will eventuate given his management ruled it out last week - more fool them - but how many more will jump off this sinking ship?6 points

On the night I thought Kozzie would go as he's got form. Been reading the outrage over the last couple days here thinking you're all just biased. Anyway ... I've just had a look again at the vision. And I agree, Moore dropped at the last second when Kozzie was already committed to the bump. Having said that we all know they're hot on those who "Choose to bump". Problem is that penalties appear to depend on who the offenders are and which club they belong too. Whenever there's a decision to be made the AFL follow the money. If the decision potentially effects their bottom line they'll concoct some BS loophole to find the defended not guilty. Makes no difference to them if Kozzie misses the first 3games next year. But Patrick Cripps missing a final for eg ... It'd be incidental contact, act of play yadda, yadda, yadda ... AFL and the MRP are corrupt AF.6 points

I have 4 comments here. First The Tribunal has found that it was reasonably foreseeable that Moore running towards the ball, would drop to the ground and that Kozzie should have known that and foreseen that as he ran in at speed and that therefore any bump at all could hit Moore in the head. That imo is errant rubbish. Second that The Tribunal allowed an amendment to the charge during the hearing, yet on other hearings refused to allow amendments, like for example Hewett, who was found to have struck a player to the head with his hand, but vision showing they had alleged the wrong hand, but clearly a strike with the other hand. Why was a proven strike simply not just amended to the correct hand. Instead they let him off. Third, how long did The Tribunal take to decide the case and write down the reasons. The findings are lengthy and written down as shown above. It takes time to weigh the evidence and decide on each issue and then more time to write it all down. I am bemused this could be done as quickly as appears, in the time spent on deliberations. Doesn’t sound like a lot of discussion on the issues. Lastly why does the AFL allow a Pies supporting person to chair a Tribunal dealing with Collingwood players?6 points

Surely this means T Mac will be offered another year if Tomo leaves. Tomlinson was very handy as a back up defender and served the club well.6 points

I have said it before, but imo this Chairman makes it up. This is what he said tonight. AFL Tribunal chair Jeff Gleeson KC said that the tribunal did not believe he was contesting the ball and it was “unreasonable” for him to bump given Moore could have lowered his body and been in danger. What he in fact is saying is that you can never bump, or if you take it to its logical conclusion, or for that matter do anything on a football field, as the other player might lower his body, or do something, that leads to him being hurt/concussed and you are therefore guilty of an offence, as it is unreasonable of you not to know that the other player might do something that turns your legal act into a suspension. That is BS. That is not the bloody rule and it never has been. Where does it say in the rules, that if the victim does something at the last second, that causes a legal act to result in an injury, that it is then an illegal act. I am sick to death of this blokes' rulings. Contrast it with what he said when a Pies player is up on knocking out a player. But the AFL tribunal panel of Jeff Gleeson, Scott Stevens and Darren Gaspar found Maynard's actions were "reasonable" in the circumstances. "He committed to the act of smothering when he was ... several metres from Brayshaw," Gleeson said in his findings. "We are not at all satisfied that a reasonable player would have foreseen that violent impact, or impact of the type suffered by Brayshaw, was inevitable or even likely." The MRO Officer a former Pies player didn't even want to charge Maynard in the first place. The AFL revealed later on Wednesday that it won't appeal the decision, despite initially overruling match review officer Michael Christian. AFL bosses sent Maynard directly to the tribunal, despite Christian not wanting to charge him in the first place. Collingwood MRO officer and Collingwood supporter presiding over cases involving Pies players, is an absolute disgrace. APPEAL.6 points

Supporters are now geared to panic over anything. These conversations would take place regularly between clubs and players. How are you feeling, etc. Try and treat each situation in isolation and not as some nefarious collective. Pickett also has a contract and won't be going anywhere. I don't see him finishing his career at Melbourne and never have, but he'll be in red and blue next year imo. And right now that's all I care about.5 points

Only those who have something to hide, refuse to open the curtains. Every good organisation with as many share holders as ours, should undertake regular reviews, regardless of performance. And any review should be done independently and without agendas.5 points

Tim Lamb surely should have been sacked. He had better have a good trade period He has brought in rejects Billings, Schache, Hunter, Fullarton and paid overs for McAdam 1. Don’t touch pick 5 2. get 25 and 42 off crows for ANB 3. no soft players any more !!!5 points
