Made the mistake of reading the end of the game day thread to read 11 of the last 12 whinging about inaccuracy, Viney and Harmes. What a sorry bunch a lot of you are. We sat on a plane for 8 hours yesterday and were switched on from the get go. The pressure was back and the structure was back and we started to look dangerous forward of the ball. Good team effort back, mid and forward with room for improvement. Bowey fitted the level like a glove.26 points

I thought Demonland would be safe after a 98 point win. Tough crowd! That was as comprehensive a demolition I’ve seen in a long time. Sure it would have been nice to pile on a few more at the end, but it’s splitting hairs. 12 of the 20 behinds were posters or rushed. It’s the absolute dismantling of a bad side we’ve been waiting for all year. Great stuff.14 points

Am I disappointed to only win by 98? No Am I annoyed that we can’t kick goals good? Yes Am I a greedy [censored]? Also yes14 points

Has officially kicked 30 goals this year. For a 20 year old 2nd year player this is seriously underrated, and a phenomenal achievement for a small forward. Has really found his mojo again since the Port game.13 points

Loved the pressure all game. ANB’s run down in the last typified their attitude.12 points

If Salem's even remotely sore he should absolutely not play next week - the Eagles game is critical to our season but Salem's fitness for the games beyond it is far more important. Hibberd a more than adequate replacement.11 points

A part of me would just love to sit back and enjoy a good drubbing of the Suns today. Talent on paper says so. The other part knows deep down that I'll once again sit through a game knowing we've kicked 7.13 to 3 quarter time and we're 4 points up heading into the last quarter..... Please be option 1.11 points

Loved the pressure today, unrelenting and got a lot of boys touch! Hopefully this will be the kickstart we need leading into the finals. Demons fans are the harshest fans! 98 point win guys!!!!! It’s been a while since I was that relaxed at half time! Carn the Dees!10 points

Nah not today, @Nasher. A big win does not always mean a flawless 22. I'll happily debate anyone who argues Harmes played well today.9 points

i think that it's disappointing that when they report on Majaks attempt they often refer to it as a 'fall'. Which i think just shows that people are so uncomfortable when talking about men's mental health.8 points

A good win and one to take some really good positives out of it. It was a bit of a training drill and honestly dont mind that we dropped off a little. Still had 7 shots at goal, so not like we just didn't put scoreboard pressure. I'll start with the negatives: Harmes and Viney were simply horrible ( am I allowed to say that @Baghdad Bob? ) the amount of times these two got the ball, tucked it under their arm, put a don't argue and then get pinged. It was absolutely infuriating! I thought maybe after a serious bake at half time that maybe they'll cut the crap out. But they didn't, they kept doing it. It's selfish, and makes them both look like absolute muppets. Does Harmes honestly think he's Dusty Martin? The coaches need to hit these two between the eye because it's simply going to cost us finals and the up and coming big games that are coming up. I would love the club to send a statement and drop one of them if not both, but we know it won't happen. The other negative is that at times we played a bit too much Hollywood. Cute little flick no look handballs over the top etc. Sparrow and Harmes were the main suspects. It's a minor thing that can be cleaned up. Another game where we kicked more points then goals. Guys like Viney, Harmes, McDonald, Petracca all missed simple goals that were in front. How on earth can this be rectified? They do enough goal kicking at training, but it's getting beyond the joke now. Positives Forward pressure and tackling inside 50 was immense. It was evident, and probably the best I've seen it all year. If we could please bring that every week then there's no doubt we can go all the way. I hope this is the confidence boosting game that Brown needed. His workmate was fantastic and there was glimpse of the Ben Broen we've come to applaud from his days at North when he was at his absolute elite. He was on a good defender in Sam Collins who I rate highly. As much as I was hard on Jackson throughout the week, it was a great game to return to form and give him some much needed confidence. It still doesn't change my opinion that heading into finals I'm not entirely sure if he's in our best team. I'm taking into consideration of the low quality of opposition out there, but I suppose you can only play who you are matched up against. Thought Jayden Hunt played another good game. Really loving the dash he is providing and since the GWS game he's really simplified his game. Harrison Petty doesn't get much acknowledgement, but his defending today was elite. Just well times spoils and his closing speed is something that's not really mentioned much. Just a great general defender who now looks comfortable at this level. Oliver was crazy good. The fact that we were still showing enormous pressure in the dying minutes of the game shows we were still not satisfied with our work. Huge few weeks coming up.7 points

I'd like to see that level of sustained pressure from now until the end of the season including finals. Bring that pressure and we are in with a strong chance.6 points

I think keeping an AFL team goal-less for 90 minutes was pretty great to watch. It looked like the team never wanted them to score no matter how far up they were.6 points

Ooooh the veil of negativity is crushing me! isnt footy meant to enjoyable? We are two points off first place and just won by 98points after a disrupted lead up. if you can’t enjoy this, why bother?6 points
-
That was the win that we had to have, pressure was ginormous, ball movement was back to our team first best, no passengers a few errors but you couldn’t fault their endeavours, stress free watching, all is good with the footy world again, despite the weird happenings yesterday, the boys came through for us. Can’t complain about that.?? well done Dee’s and AFL.??6 points

This post game thread is as neurotic as it gets. Always looking for negative's to confirm the long held belief that 'we're never good enough', so that when we inevitability lose (and we will, just a matter of pre or post grand final) we can go into self protection and fall back on 'I told you so?6 points

Harmes and Viney drove me nuts despite the result. I think it was @Jaded in the gameday thread (dangerous territory I know) that suggested Harmes needs to play like Harmes and not like the Bont. Fair call. Or as Callahan said many years earlier...6 points

Just a typical Clint Bizkit post full of negativity. You weren’t expecting such a win in your pre game posts, but even after a 98 point win, still not happy FFS, might be time to come clean that you don’t follow us6 points

That was the most enjoyable game for me this year. No weak links. Never threatened. Just class all the way. A great game to take us into the west coast one. I know we won’t be able to play that dominately against top teams, but I do hope this brings up their confidence. Well done boys6 points

I liked the look of Bowey. I think he’s another ripper. We still need more skilful distributors, so very happy he could get some AFL experience this year. Great that BBB and Jacko got amongst the goals and got their tales up. Viney and Harmes both struggling with the pace of the game, and then being able to bring enough skill when required. Still love us to have better midfield balance, and think that longer term one of those guys needs to be replaced by an outside runner with foot skills.6 points

The Suns could not have been more compliant. They were pathetic. The perfect opponents to play us back into form Nice debut from Bowey. Showed composure and used the ball well. Well done son. BB kicking a bag will be a big boost for his confidence Most played well. Clarry a superstar. Dogga very good Viney and Harmes weak links. Viney completely out of sorts and Harmes is just a poorly skilled footballer. Can’t carry both in a finals campaign Langdon quiet again. Need him to find form for finals Accuracy! Kicked more points than goals. Again. 4 posties I think we had Overall a very enjoyable, stress free Sunday afternoon (and looks like the Hawks might do us a big favor as well)6 points

Can’t fault much, but Harmes and Viney kill me. Neither has learnt to take the first option and Harmes can’t hit a single target. Really want to see them lift their game, as they should be copping a bake from Goodwin. Loving the forward pressure. Brown’s looked really good and that helps TMac, Fritsch and Jackson get free and hit the scoreboard. Oliver incredible and Lever, Petty and May solid.6 points

Would definately offer him another year as not only insurance for Max, but he really has played some fine games at Casey and I believe he would be good at mentoring younger players.6 points
