  1. If there was nothing illegal about what they did, then Jonas wouldn't have got a fine, you absolute knucklehead.

  2. Lockhart is a seriously good player. Plays very well both on the inside and out with good speed and superb skills. I didn’t really notice him for Casey on the weekend but he must have played inside most of the day and it’s hard to tell watching live who is doing well in there. Some of his games last year were pretty incredible so I’m expecting a lot from him. Good luck Jay.

  3. I'd imagine this response along with a number of others will be deleted but do you really have to couch everything around how much you dislike Saty? You started it with your quip about Saty's relationship with the players when someone asked you to do training reports. The usual suspects including the much loved Moonie and Wise jumped on. Fair dinkum Dazzle. If everyone got suspended getting something wrong on this site not many would post. What is it about "some people like Saty and some don't" you don't understand? Why is it you want to shut down and bully Saty? I've been to training quite often lately and guess what. The players speak to him, the coaches speak to him and often go out of their way to say hello. He's good mates with Nev. Are you questioning his character because he likes Saty? For all your training reports have their merits Saty often provides information not available elsewhere. And if you think he isn't told things and keeps them quiet you're kidding yourself. Live and let live mate. You single handedly diverted this threat to Saty and I for one find that childish. Grow up.

  4. Pathetic comment? Nothing pathetic about it. Jones has been an absolute standout as a player and captain of our club for a very long time, there's no doubting his sacrifice and resilience. But i did not comment on that did I. What's pathetic is his attempt to take the simplest of chest marks. Nathan would be the first to tell you that too. No opposition player anywhere near him, at a critical time of the match and that capitulation was the final nail in the coffin and stripped any momentum we may have had. Would we have been able to come back if he kicked the goal? Probably not, but by having that brain fade, it ensured that we wouldn't. You're way too defensive and close to the playing group to maintain an objective outlook Saty.

  5. Knew Kolodjashnij was coming in, he is a good player. Great to see Lockharts dream come true. Keilty emergency again, thought he was a chance this week but at least he is still in contention. If he keeps his good form cor a couple of VFL games, hopefully he gets a go sooner rather then later.

  7. First time l've genuinely felt sympathy for an opposition player. He's more Melbourne than Collingwood to me.

  8. Frost doesn’t wear 30 on his jumper. Yes he had a bad one last week but he wasn’t alone. He played some good footy last year. I agree with Wise he is probably there to pinch hit in the ruck and play a bit forward.

  9. Was bitterly disappointed when we didn't draft him, went away and came back to Casey in amazing shape, has been standout at Casey pre seson training and was duly rewarded

  10. Personally i think this has been a bit of an overreaction, how easily people forget last year we were one of the most intimidating teams going around. It was 1 game... We will be back to our intimidating best this weekend.

  11. Cornedbeef: Jonas has no regrets and said he would do it again. If you wanted any further evidence that the penalty was too light. I hope the AFL reads that.

  16. Not sure what you were watching. Tom was about 60 out on no better than a 45 degree angle. He kicked it to Jones who was 40 out directly in front.

  17. I'm amazed about the negative comments about Jone's dropped mark. Some posters are almost saying he squibbed it. Seemed clear to me he took his eyes off the ball because he wanted to see who was downfield for a quick pass. A mistake, but that's all.

  25. I actually think missing Vanders hurts us a bit in this area - he is such a bull. That said, we have pleanty of other big tough battle hardened guys like Viney, Jones, Jetta, Harmes, Pattraca, Melksham, Hibbard, Salem, T Mac and Co that missing one guy shouldn't be the end of our physical presence. I fully expect the guys to respond this week. If we really do think we need a bit of extra physical bite, then throw in the big Preuss monster to iron out some hand baggers - we are not committed to playing him every week, so shouldn't matter so much if he gets suspended. I can't fully explain our slow start to the year in a way that doesn't sound like it's just making excuses, but we were one of the best, if not the best contested ball sides last year, so I'm not really concerned that it's a toughness or willingness to work thing. If anything, I think last week we feel into the trap of getting too many guys sucked into the ball and then getting burnt on the outside. Pretty hard to win contested ball when the ball isn't in a contested situation.

  26. How do we know this isn’t just more fugazi and that the club has actually told you the truth about injuries but sworn you to secrecy?

  27. I can't stand Cornes, he is an absolute idiot of the highest order. Which is why its so painful to say he is absolutely on the money here. For all our contested ball winning "bulls" not a single bloke flew the flag for Gawn and people here should be far more concerned with that than they currently are. It is simply disgraceful that we didn't fight back for Gawny, there really is no excuse. Ugh, time for a shower.

  29. You do realise his dropped mark 40m out and following slingshot back to Port's goal was a 12 point turnaround? That momentum killer was a 'game over' moment.

  31. I reckon he's right and wrong. its been an embarrassing week for the club all round. Goody did get outcoached. the only thing Cornes is wrong about is saying that Port did nothing illegal, which is not right, as you cant drop blokes off the ball like Jonas did, that's why he got fined 2k.

  34. I think O Mac will always be preferred to Frost because he can actually read the ball in flight and then dispose of it cleanly when it’s in his possession Frost is an honest battler who is terrible under a high ball and has some of the worst kicking skills in the competition He’s a good honest battler, but a liability when under pressure

  36. Ever since quarter time of JLT 1 V's Richmond, it just seems like the club has been a non entity. I can't put my finger as to what's going on at the moment - aside from an interrupted pre-season. From poor performances in all 3 games, to poor discipline in JLT 2, to gross injury mis-management (Smith) to players and on-field leaders not sticking up for one another. The whole club needs a massive wake up and realise that the wholy grail was not beating an injury riddled Hawthorn in a semi final. And speaking of our leadership group, is it any wonder we fell apart last week when you've got: Gawn - playing his career worst game Jones - dropping and/or fumbling 3 basic marks/ground balls in the last qtr Viney - looking 30% fit T Mac - Has he even played a game this year? The remainder of the players aren't going to lift if their leaders are collectively having a pathetic performance

  37. I'll give the boys the benefit of the doubt on this one and give them the chance to respond against Geelong before labeling them soft, which they absolutely were on all fronts in round 1. Hawkins or Danger in a bodybaq is my pass mark ?

  41. The wish of the AFL and broadcasters to have Hird involved in the game is obvious to all. Yes, I know forgiveness is an important aspect of our lives and part of the moral underpinning of society, however it's a bit rich when you welcome back someone that has been involved in activity that has deliberately broken the governing rules of sport and its moral code. "Cheating" is as bad as it gets. However, if Wayne Carey can return to the game as a respected commentator after his activities, anything is possible. I suppose, it just highlights that commercial interests are paramount. Sadly, it is also proof that the ethical and moral standards of footy and all sports have declined.

  42. Making out like he is some big hierarchy thats an advocate for us supporters on here. I honestly think they just say that just to take the [censored] out of him. There is no way a professional organisation would say to a die hard nerd supporter to keep this kind of information confidential.. He got caught out lying about the Andrew Gaff scenario last year. Then went into hiding after he was caught out. In regards to the Jones situation, if Sparrow had nailed that goal then i dont think this would be a serious discussion point. I am backing Jones to have a big one. I also do believe that he still needs to have moments as an inside midfielder. Does his best work in close, but also at times we are exposing his lack of speed put on a wing.

  44. Paul Amy @PaulAmy375 Won't be a surprise if Jay Lockhart earns a debut for Melbourne after an excellent outing for Casey Demons in the practice match against Box Hill Hawks. The tough Tasmanian was a late addition to the rookie list. He's a rising player.

  46. My god you are so wrapped up in your cozy little world you miss the obvious. We seem good at getting players in tip top shape don't we. Maybe time to get new glasses. Your Rosey ones are deluding you Saty. We're obviously carrying a truck load of injury. Some planned convalescence possibly...some seems in the 'we'll play it week by week" To be fair that might be the only practical way for some but it also screams to some we really don't have a good enough handle on some aspects. Are we unique and alone in the football World ? Highly doubt it. Not interested in other club's problems. How any club can stump up that dross in round one with a far from fit team beggars belief in 2019. So yes Saty some of us look straight at those in charge. Stick to your camera mate.

  48. Got there early to see the rehab group come out first, Lever, Louis, Petty, Jeffy, Hore, Viney and to my dismay May! No AVB, JKH or J Smith. the main group then appeared and thankfully May joined them immediately. Viney joined the main group after about 30 minutes running and exercising with the rehab group. He looks to be moving freely and was OK in the ball drills but who knows. Saw JSmith walking around not in running gear, not limping but not doing any rehab.
