  1. After 29 years of potting the bloke, he's obviously a genius….

  2. The reason we would be so into Preuss is because he's the type of ruckman that would work well in our system. He's really good at using his body to control the area into which the ball falls. He isn't a subtle touch player but he's strong and helps a team with a really good inside midfield. If Max goes down we're stuffed. But with Preuss we can rest him strategically within and between games and still be able play or style of football knowing that we can attack stoppages. Plus an injury to Gawn won't automatically mean that we can't win the flag anymore.

  3. I just want him to stay so I don't have to update the banner or podcast logo.

  4. Now confirmed , the Basil Zempelis report was a tele prompter error. An absolute fiasco.

  5. Jay Clark reporting he’s past his medical/freo are satisfied with the state of his foot. It’s not just down to finding a trade dees won’t budge on 2 first rounders. Nor should they.

  9. Significant news considering the family pull after the sad death of his father this year. In my eyes this is a bigger signing then Jesse Hogan. His brute physicality was what set the tone for us during the finals series and West Coast game when we beat them over there. Respect Vanders.

  10. Yeah we'll all be counting the great savings, after we finish runner up to WC with Kennedy kicking 4.

  11. My many years spent around negotiating tables with some of the toughest and best wheelers and dealers have taught me that there are some fundamental principles: -Every one recognizes that there is always "ambit"" -That successful negotiation needs to take place leaving personal egos aside. -That you need to place yourself in the shoes of the person on the other side of the table. You may not accept their claims or position, but you need to understand and accept that a resolution requires accommodation on both sides. -That there is no deal or successful deal without compromise. -Unless the person on the other side is incompetent, you never get your best outcome, but you get an outcome that you can live with. -Both sides need to feel that they have had a win and that the outcome is acceptable to their constituents.

  12. Teams play maximum two rucks with most playing one. Teams play how many midfielders and even more so how many inside midfielders? If we lose one inside mid in 2019 how much will you panic? If Gawn went down next year how much will you panic? Preuss is worth as much as Tyson. You could potentially argue more.

  13. I’m quite certain Tom Morris was doing the club podcast until he was booted. He’s from Fox Footy, dresses like a trust fund baby and doesn’t shave. Tom Browne is the lump of wood from Channel 7 who has the presentation warmth of Professor Snape. Not sure if Browne supports Melbourne.

  15. Actually if you must know, an ex player of Fremantle who is a stock broker of mine. He's obviously not connected to the club anymore but seems he'd have more idea than all on this thread bar Chook I.P. No need to be condescending and assume [censored].

  16. Hogan will ONLY request a trade once a deal has been agreed between Melbourne and Fremantle. Which may or may not even happen. Melbourne has told him (and Freo) we will be holding him to the final year of his CONTRACT if we are not suitably recompensed in trade. Hogan will say nothing until this happens.

  17. Why ? His job is to trade. That requires only telling anyone what's required. Not us. We'll know when we do. My life isn't going to be any different whether I know anything today..or in a week. Will yours ? Let him do his job ..his way.

  18. Or maybe, the FD just want to get things done and realise that #winning every trade is for people that get hoisted on petards and not for those that trade for players that help us win a flag? And secondly, a back up ruck to help Gawn is much more important than our 6th best inside mid. Didnt think I needed to make that explicit... Gawn has an injury history, tape around his calf second half of the season and has just played 25 games.

  19. Let’s be clear. Jesse didn’t do a medical test while at dockers HQ because he’s still not allowed to run. He may have had additional scans done. But I think this is all BS

  20. Former Demons' CEO Peter Jackson will be our very special guest on the next Demonland Podcast on Wednesday 17th October @ 8:30pm. Let us know if you have a question for Peter. We'll also be doing a wrap up of Trade Week if we ever get around to doing any trades.

  22. I would be surprised and that is the worst case scenario. An option (I'm being a bit creative): pick 5 2018 a swap of 2019 first round picks. Hopefully, in 2019 that converts to us receiving pick 5/6/7 and give up pick 17/18. ie a significant 2019 first round upgrade for us. To me that is a good compromise between Freo's 2019 1st round pick or a second round pick.

  23. Now there is a great clubman. Look and learn JH.

  24. 100% spot on. I have been told from within the club this is exactly the case. I can also add that Jesse remains open to completing his contract. This all started because at his exit interview he said he would not be signing a contract extension over summer and was considering whether he would return home “at the end of his contract”.

  25. Grossly overrated is a silly comment in my opinion! We also did pretty well without Lever, should we trade him? We won plenty of games in the middle of the year without Viney, maybe get rid of him? And before you or others say at least the Weed stood up in finals, he hasnt had the chance, and i have no doubt he would stand up. And those saying he hasnt scored goals against the good sides, he isnt there as only a goal kicker. He helps T Mac get a secondary defender, he pushes up the ground heaps as well. I cant be bothered going through the stats, but I am sure early on, when he was playing dominant footy, it was still against some good teams. Personally, I want him to stay and for us to play all 3 talls. I also would love to see us get May at the same time, just not sure how.

  26. I believe the failed medical/mental issues were a result of this Facebook page reporting it last night as fact. They have since deleted the original post and posted this explanation.

  27. A more informative and reasoned commentary by Michael Gleeson. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/fremantle-edging-closer-to-decision-on-hogan-20181010-p508x3.html Key points (paaphrasing): Full insight into navicular injury will not be available till after trade period ends Freo Board has met to discuss Hogan Talks are ongoing and progressing between the clubs Melbourne has shifted from its initial position of demanding two top-10 picks Discussions on a possible move of contracted Suns co-captain and full-back Steven May to Melbourne would not happen until a possible Hogan move was confirmed The Demons want the Dockers' first pick, but negotiations will then centre on what else would be required to complete a deal and whether it requires another first-round pick this year or next year, or a second-round selection. I don't think Mahoney has gone soft - just practical to get the deal done. Two top 10 picks always unlikely and just his opening ambit. My read is the deal will now happen.

  28. I want him gone. I want May. I don’t want another will he won’t he year. I don’t want a player who isn’t all in. I want to improve our list and he feels surplus to our needs. He isn’t committed to us. He needs to leave. We have supported him for years. Gave him everything we could. He clearly isn’t interested, not even now that we are on the verge of serious success. He’s gotta go.

  29. Just shows how far Browne Morris has been shut out by demon insiders. He now relies on other media outlets or guesses. Is a demon supporter and early this year he was doing the club podcast, then kept leaking stuff which is pretty low. Got the boot from the podcast. Clearly is now a persona non gratia! Edit: Referred to Tom Browne but my post was intended to be about Tom Morris

  31. Been lurking here for the last few months but I'm one of the bigger PJ fans around so this was enough to make me sign up, well done! My question: What advice would you give someone at the start of their career who wants to work in football admin, and what makes someone good at the job? Its impossible not to be inspired by what you've achieved since you started with us.

  32. Movement at the station: SEN reporting that Neale deal will get done with 2018 #5 and #32 from the Lions. Hopefully, just a matter of time now! Edit: not suggesting we accept those for Jessie, see them as a starting point.

  34. Why would any skilled negotiator tell the hoards what is happening and what they have planned? The only information they would think of releasing would be mis-information and that is not a good idea long term. No, I applaud our team and expect no news until deals are done or not going to be done. Well done Dees!

  36. We're about to sign a ready-to-go ruckman with the league's greatest potential on a four year deal for sfa. With a project in Bradtke, ruck department nominally sorted for the next half a decade. Such a difficult juggle nowadays. Big tick. Fantastic MFC.

  39. Sound advice. This is why we need to tell Freo that if Hogan isn't in a Freo jumper on Monday's front page of the Herald Sun, we want THREE first rounders. Then throw the table over and walk out.

  43. If Tyson is on $500k as suggested here then there's salary cap dump involved too which helps our cause. I expect Preuss will come on less per year over 4 years. That is a factor in evening out the trade value.

  44. You do realise you can do medical exeminations without the running? All they would need is a copy of medical report on his foot from the specialist he saw down here. Even if hes foot was fine, some medicals don't require running. He's definitely done a medical at Freo.
