The crowd shouldn't touch the players or lunge at them as this loser did. I don't care what Oliver said. He should have been removed.32 points

Clearly the clown said something to Oliver and got a bit back Then the typical weak snivelling Carlton [censored] whinged about it Typical weak bastard!!31 points

This country needs to hurry up and legalise gay marriage so I can finally propose to Nev Jetta.28 points

I think the Oliver incident is simple. Nicky Winmar proved that players have a right to play without being abused. A ticket to the footy is not a free excuse to abuse people. Especially when the supporter obviously said something that offended Clarry, but then didn't like it when he gave him something back. We all go to the game to see the players at their best, not to listen to Jo Public abuse. The AFL needs to continue to focus on that - especially in a season where we've had multiple players take time out for their mental health.19 points

Geez if Cripps has a real fracture I can't wait to read the medical report. During the second quarter Cripps was deliberately and savagely attacked by Melbourne's Jayden Hunt. As a result Patrick is currently deceased. Slight chance of playing next week.18 points

I feel like I put this in here most weeks, but: Clayton Oliver - 29 touches, 9 tackles, 15 contested possessions and 6 clearances. Clarence, we love you!18 points

I don't care how badly we played, WE ARE IN THE TOP FOUR! My heart can't take it, but what a win that was. Missing five of our best players and we can still find a way to win. Just sensational. I don't have the ability to analyse this game at all right now, my mental state is poor. But I can't contain how happy I am with the footy club at the moment. HUGE win under the circumstances and keeps us right in the fight, not just for finals, but for a Top 4 spot as well! DEMONS!!!!!!17 points

Christian Petracca was another who slipped under the radar today, but he collected 25 possessions and 18 of these were contested as well. I like the fact that he can get his hands dirty and not just stick to doing the flashy things. He was in plenty today and shot out some handballs that set up a few of our goals. He continues to come of age.15 points

Not sure why everyone's so down about Lewis' performance too. He made one notable cockup in the heat of the moment in the first quarter (the kick that fell short of Melksham at HF) but other than that, I thought he stepped up as support for Oliver in the way we needed him to. He was a battering ram in the middle of the field and won his share of contested ball. His play at the end, which had the double benefit of running down the clock and taking the heat off a junior player was a critical example of using experience to the betterment of the team. I thought he was great and in our top couple. I still think too many people see a player do one or two poor things and let it colour their view of the match as a whole.13 points

Wagner???? You can't be serious? Two massive goals, and possibly his best game!!!13 points

Anyone else enjoying what clarry does, he has that arrogance that we need to win a flag petracca aswell, not only that he backs it up on the field, I love clarry11 points

It was Lewis. Nothing like the voice of experience. For all the Lewis knockers on here, we should acknowledge he will help us win more games than not.11 points

Just watched Goodwin's press conference where he was asked about the culture issue. The next 2 1/2 minutes are worth bottling and a must view. It was as if he just wanted the question and his opportunity to then theorise about what makes a good cultutre and what he and the club are doing about it. Coach of the year material and we're lucky to have him. Its as if he was sending the players the message, but just via the presser. And how in tune the leadership group is with him. Well done Simon.10 points

Milkshake was also tagging Gibbs who had no influence - this makes him an important player10 points

No way Hannan gets dropped Key player at the moment as he can rotate thru the midfield With it being in Darwin one key tall must go; Pedo draws the short straw10 points

Apparently Lewis was on 3aw and said he told neal bullen to take the 30 seconds and pass it to him. Bullen said he could kick it but had 2nd thoughts. Smart by Jordan10 points

Who's the [censored] who kept saying we'd lose? Me. But seriously we were terrible today, our style of play relies on too much possession and opposition teams just walk through our tackles. Oliver was back to his best who was a huge positive and ANB's pass to Lewis at the end is one of the most intelligent things a Melbourne player has done in years. Plugger has been amazing, what a great month he is having. We take the four points and move on.10 points

If Lewis and Vince can wind back the clock a bit, our midfield still looks strong. I hope Lewis spends time playing an inside role as Oliver needs some support in the absence of the skippers. I told myself during the week that our injuries might bring us undone, but I've moved past that somewhat. All the players we added are AFL quality including our best two forwards. Carlton have done their best impersonation of a decent AFL team recently, but they're 16th on 5 wins. We have to get this done if we want to be taken seriously.10 points

Isn't ANB becoming a handy little player? I thought his mate Stretch was leaving him behind last year and now it is the opposite. He runs to the right spots, works hard, has aggression and confidence and thinks he can do more than he can (which is healthy for a young player). Looks like he is putting his hand up to stick around when the cavalry comes back to the line.9 points

I had convinced myself we were going to lose this game going into it, so the result was pleasantly surprising. Obviously them being two rotations down in the second half affected them, even more so given one was Cripps, but we had a second/third-string midfield out there at times so it's not like we were able to take major advantage of that. Hogan and Smith were both obviously rusty, but I thought Hogan's leading was really good and he made TMac's life a little easier. Jetta was phenomenal, may well have saved us the game with that final effort. We needed a lift through the middle and we got that from Oliver and Petracca, with able support around them. As for the leaders, Lewis made a couple of horrendous, embarrassing mistakes but he also wore immense physical pressure from them all day and took hit after hit. He put his body on the line when he needed to and he was obviously smart in that final play. Vince, on the other hand, I thought was putrid. If we had our best 22 available I don't know if I'd have Vince in the side. Stretch is sh*tting himself at the sight of physical pressure and it's costing us. Far too fumbly and just cannot win a hard ball. Kent improved as the game went on, I'd certainly give him another game. I also thought Wagner was much improved on last week. Ultimately, we beat a side that is difficult to beat, at a ground we're losing at more than we're winning, with the pressure of knowing a loss would send us out of the 8, without 5 of our best 10 players. That, to me, is a huge positive, even if the quality of our performance was low.9 points

The last 6 weeks has essentially completely changed his career. He'll now play significant time up forward in games and do it regularly. He's gone, in a couple of months, from being a career KP defender to being a McGovern-style swing man. It's one of the biggest stories at MFC this year.9 points

When Oliver got a free kick from Gibbs, a third player (possibly Wright) came in and pushed Oliver while he was waiting to get the ball back. How is that not a 50 metre penalty?8 points

Mick would trade Hogan, Trac, Jones, Clary and Viney for picks 75 through to 80. As certain as day follows night.8 points
