I have proudly worn 39 on my jumper for last 5 years, hoping Nev would get a good pre season and a settled place in the side and shut up the doubters, mouths slowly closing....13 points

One of the glaring differences between Neeld and Roos seems to be the decisions made at the selection table. Under Neeld, the starting 22 seemed at times seemed like a revolving door and for the most part, he was making the decisions that most of us would have agreed with. Neeld felt the pressure. Roos has held his nerve. If most of us had our way, then Watts would have been dropped last week. At various points, we probably would have cut Grimes, Pederson, Byrnes, Terlich, Bail, Howe, JKH as well. Jack copped it from all sections of the media, but Roos refused to single out and humiliate a player who's been maligned for his entire career. Of course, players should earn their place, but I wonder if we're witnessing some of the benefits of playing a more settled line-up - in the cohesion and camaraderie of the playing group and the confidence of these players individually?11 points

If Jones kicked the captains goal then Grimes made the captains spoil. Very nice work by our skippers.7 points

1. Dawes 2. Vince 3. Terlich 4.Tyson 5. JKH 6. Jetta Isn't it a wonderful thing to leave Nathan Jones out of the 6 best players in a winning team?7 points

Have to say that Pedo continues to amaze, Jetta was great today on Betts and Bail is very underrated.7 points

3player crash, 2 concussions, Viney wins ball.. Viney KO'd - 20 secs later running back with flight of ball... Unreal. Jamar the unsung hero, he's back folks. Tyson class, Grimes spoil on Dangerfield! T-Mac has to get the golden fist. Dawes the new Clark. Watts displayed his pace! JKH gets everything out of his size. Bail split packs, these are a few of my favourite things Hell yeah!7 points

Well Miss Deeko and I did the toad trip from Mildura to Melb last weekend for the game much to her horror (doesnt appreciate the sport). And today being Deeko's big three zero she has surprised me with some tickets to the game for me and a couple demon supporting mates. Shes driving us. What a keeper Come on Dees really would love a win as a present!7 points

Jamar has been ridiculed on this site from a number of posters lately. Time to give him his dues he was good tonight and looked strong. Also liked that mark and goal he kicked too.6 points

I've got a good feeling about Pedo today. Driving to my grandson's basketball game today I passed a place called "Ped's Cafe" in Waverley Road, Malvern and then as I went further down the road on the corner of Warragul Road there was a sign that said "Give way to Peds" - an omen if there ever was one that he's going to play a blinder.6 points

Not just the ones being paid but the ones not being paid. Disgraceful umpiring!5 points

makes you wonder about blokes like Morton, Gysberts etc and what might have happened if we had a coach who knew what he was doing at the time they came up5 points

Was told we were getting a classy forward, with question marks on size and pace. Was not expecting a gun midfielder who knows how to find the ball and make the right decision every time. So happy with this selection so far.5 points

the transformation in the midfield has been spectacular - don't underestimate the influence of Stone - almost as important a get as Roosy5 points

Roos keeping faith in Jetta after 1 kick last week is not something we've seen for a while.5 points

Jay Kennedy Harris is a steal at pick 40 Dom Tyson is class and guts rolled into one Dawes is very underrated Beating a good side with Jones quiet is a massive positive Our defence is in the top 6 in the comp and our two best defenders ( frawley and garland) aren't in it5 points

Hope the report is Roos having a coffee with Tex is right. Would make a handy forward line4 points

Was very important early. Excellent game. His last two weeks have been a microcosm of his whole career to date though; i.e. famine or feast. Hopefully he can find more games like that one.4 points

Great team win. The first half really showed where we are heading. The last quarter players stood up and showed the steel to hang on. Watts and Howe both showed real application today. JKH, Tyson, Viney and Salem's early cameo really showed the future. However a match of many highlights the best one of all for me was Jetta absolutely towelling Betts. I really hope he gets a good injury free run at that small defender role.4 points

Got the IQ ready for the 2:30am replay To be honest I thought JKH was fantastic, still a little timid going for marks at times but is so smooth and clean collecting the ball. If he starts kicking goals... Wow. Tyson was fantastic, Salem was awesome early, not as good in the last but is a great get for us. Vince was good, Dawes was amazing, grimes started really well and finished with the spoil of the year. Howe was a lot better tonight, watts also looked pretty good, loved the yell and slap Dawes gave watts when he did the tackle. Terlich was good with his normal brain snap. Jetta smashed Betts, I may need to apolagise in 5-6 weeks if he keeps this up.4 points

I'm speechless. this will give our boys so much confidence for the future that they can start believing in their ability to strangle the opposition and win ugly. Who cares how we win? I'll take anything. Soooo good.4 points

Those calling for Georgiou's head, here is his own assessment of his time on his opponents. Yes he is a liability at times with his kicking, but for a 6 gamer, he doesn't lose many contests: R1 - Rhys Stanley (St Kilda) “I reckon he kicked one. It was over the back though, I wasn’t really on him.” R2 - Dean Cox/Nic Naitanui (West Coast) “I was on Cox and Naitanui most of the game. Naitanui kicked one on me in the first quarter. Naitanui is ridiculously strong. He got me in a wrestling contest.” R3 - Jon Patton (GWS) “I was on Patton. His leading patterns were really good and he was throwing me around like a little kid. He kicked two that day.” R4 - Patrick Cripps/Andrejs Everitt (Carlton) “I was on the young fella Cripps mainly and also Everitt. Neither of those kicked goals on me. I was probably lucky that game.” R5 - Sam Day (Gold Coast) “I was on Day for most of the game. He kicked 1.2.” R6 - Lewis Roberts-Thomson (Sydney) “I was on Lewis Roberts-Thomson and he didn’t kick one on me.”4 points

I think that's a paradox. Whoops, I will be ignored if I keep this up... Post-Neeld. Structures. Gerard Healy is bad. Paul Roos good. Phew. Saved it.4 points

Lets not get ahead of ourselves a Gutsy win by our Finger tips . I dont want to rain on the parade but still plenty of bad habits to get rid of After last weeks Game I said the positive was we no longer capitulate. Today's game proved that in Spades ! For now I am happy and ecstatic about the win and we all should be so . Lets just hope there are more before seasons end and I will dine out on each and everyone of them . But for now the change is happening lets enjoy the ride both the ups and downs in the knowledge that maybe we have finally turned the corner and seasons need no longer be like having teeth drawn!3 points

Ro was very good today. He ran all day as we know he can, was hard at the ball and his disposal was generally good. 21disposals, 9 contested possessions, 5 tackles and a goal. Probably his best game for the club3 points

Having one right now wyl.GD sitting from 6 am tomorrow mate so need to keep it nice. However they seldom taste this nice.3 points

Wow!!! Dawes is an A grader - no argument! Bernie Vince top game but also an aggressive little bastard - loved the way he stuck elbows into his former teammates. Now here's the thing. Can we rattle cups, run raffles, prostitute our wives, whatever is needed to to pay Paul Roos ridiculous amounts of money to stay with the MFC.3 points

That win had Roos' fingerprints all over it. And we won on the road. And N Jones didn't have to be BOG.3 points

Commentators lamenting how soft that free to Dawes was. GIVE ME A BREAK. The last ten freaking frees have all been soft as marshmellow and all went in Adelaide's favour. Give me a break!3 points

I agree. Razor Ray has backed them. Watch this 3rd quarter again and the umpiring is one-sided. Thank Christ for the Dawes softy.3 points

I hope we don't have any more anti-Pedo rants on this forum. He's been really handy this year and improving with each game. I also think Watts has been redeemed3 points

Dear Jack Watts. That is all we want, desperation. No one expects anymore than effort.3 points

Glad Salem is sub, he was impressive last week but easing young blokes in Is very important3 points

Get ready for the upset of the round. I'm tipping the Dee's to get over the line by a mere 3 points in a thriller. I'm hoping Salem will start the game and if so I reckon we'll see a rising star nomination today. Vince BOG.3 points
