One of our main issues."

5th best this year at 30yo! Go Salo! Don't listen to the so-called supporters

I actually thought Salem was pretty solid this year and had a few good games. Somewhat surprised that he finished as high as 5th though.

Did anyone mention Goody in their speeches?

Or Bucks?

Gawn was well due for another one. I reckon three best and fairests don't reflect how dominant he's been over the past 10 years.

Got absolutely robbed big time last year.

When a few around these parts were kicking Salem in the guts, I pointed out that he would finish top 5 in the B&F. Very pleased to be the accurate one when the Bozo’s were shooting off their mouths!

You’re judging him against himself. That’s not how it works. It’s his season judged against that of his peers.

Nope. Kozzy made AA. Easily a better season. Several players I'd have above Trac this year.

I didn’t see all of them, but did see the majority. The ones I saw all mentioned Goody. And Gawn started his speech by acknowledging him and giving him credit. None mentioned Bucks at all.

Why would they mention Buckley

Such a mess on so many levels but perhaps the report card should just read... "Could do better"

I get it that we do these things but seriously 2025 set the club back five odd years

I'm not going to hate on Trac, but really can't see how he should finish 2nd. Stats are one thing, but I struggle to remember where he used the ball effectively enough to make a big positive impact on the game.

Wouldn't argue against him finishing somewhere in the top ten, but to me that Bowie finishes below him in 4th, just makes our B&F like the brownlow - another midfielder's medal. I'd probably also have rated Melksham above both Salem and Trac this season.

Team won 7 games … plenty of others played worse

Trac actually came second in the Demonland Player of the Year, so most DLers are on board.

In fact DL picked the top 4 in the same order as the club. I was surprised by Salo and Chandler's high finishes like most DLrs I suspect.

Not sure how historical votes compare but the fact that max was more than double of the runner up says a lot about everyone else.

Anyway, seasons done and no point on labouring the point anymore. I hope everyone is determined to have a huge 2026. All starts off with a respite then a huge preseason. I’d expect everyone to come back in ripping shape.

Robbo's voice is shockiiiiiiin - jayzus! Sounds like a drunken dad in the shower...in the early 80s.

"That sounds like the wide world of sports tune. The guys in the office are going to love this"

I was very pleased that Geoff McGivern, premiership player and Bluey winner, was given life membership. For some reason he was not named in the 150 Heroes book published some time ago. He definitely should have been named.

How is Trac 2nd in the Bluey?

Because the MFC judges are a lot more astute than the hyperventilating Petracca haters on this site. He should be congratulated on coming back so well from such a shocking injury, not torn down at every opportunity.

Why are people surprised Trac is finishing high? Everyone heaps [censored] on him because he's not at his peak of being the best player in the league, but he's still a good player and had a good year. He bettered all his main career average stats bar marking and was our best midfielder.

Talk him down and hate him all you want - he's still better than most running round in red and blue, even at his current level.

Yes was very very avg this year..appeasement maybe?

Salem is OVERATED! IMO

The top 10:

  • Max Gawn – 592 votes

  • Christian Petracca – 479 votes

  • Kysaiah Pickett – 467 votes

  • Jake Bowey – 459 votes

  • Christian Salem – 404 votes

  • Kade Chandler – 376 votes

  • Clayton Oliver – 353 votes

  • Ed Langdon – 333 votes

  • Harvey Langford – 318 votes

  • Jack Viney – 313 votes

Well done to Harvey to finish 9th despite missing a game.

Disappointed Rivers didn't feature given his experience, played every game and no apparent injury concerns.

I'm pretty sure riv finished equal 10th with Viney.

At least I think that was the graphic on the screen at the end of the event.

Bu agree, it's interesting riv got so fee votes.

And I thought it interesting clarry didn't finish higher

I dont think he deserved to nessesarily, just that he played every game and was often in our top 5 rated players - and on the surface he had a better season than chin.

I say on the surface as the difference in best and fairest awards to say the brownlow or player ratings is, like the coaches votes, they factor in things hard to assess externally like leadership and adherence to role and instructions.

Which I think helps explain chin and langdon, who rated super poorly this year, getting so many votes.

Even though he missed 4 games i was surprised tmac didn't finish top 10.

Another comms stuff-up. On our website they did write-ups on all the category winners.... Harvey Langford, none, just a photo.

Chappy said when announcing Kozzie's third spot, that if he hadn't been suspended for 3 games at the start of the year he probably would have finished higher. Trac had 3 more games to poll in and only finished 12 pts ahead.
