1: Kozzie (would be higher if he took more of his chances)

A team effort

Some coaching moves at last

fourth quarter was impressive

An improved forward line

Defenders solid with disco

And lastly some lucky sox deserved the win

No point in getting rid of goody, all the players would go as well !

  1. Kozz / Riv

  2. Lindsay

  3. Turner

  4. Gawn

  5. Bowey

  6. Melksham

  1. Melksham

    1. Oliver

      1. Gawn

        1. Pickett

          1. Turner

            1. Rivers

  1. Oliver - significantly blunted Neale’s impact, and was very impactful himself. Clarrie’s best game for two years, and if it signifies that he has ‘turned the corner’, then look out!

  1. Melksham - a lynchpin in our forward half. Regularly ‘confused’ and out-manoeuvred Andrews, and kicked like the pro that he is.

  1. Gawn - Max was Max. His ruck work throughout, and marking in the last were crucial. What a leader!

  1. Bowey - another excellent contribution, with great (tough) defence, reading of the play, calm head, and precision distribution.

  1. Rivers - tough as nails, and worked his [censored] off all day. His third quarter (in particular) was very influential.

  1. Petracca - another strong game (as we have come to expect from the champ). A few fumbles, and some ‘iffy’ disposal at times, marked him down a bit.

Several who I could have squeezed in for a vote include: Disco, Kos, Lingers and Chin.

So many contributors great team effort brought effort, intensity and did the small 1%ers really well.

6.Melksham

5.Gawn

4.Bowey

3.Trac

2.Kossi

1.Clarrie

Rivers, Turner,Langdon all could have got votes

2 Trac - leading possession getter for the game but appears so low in the votes? Maybe we expect too much of Trac, but he was great again.

1 Langdon - back to his

He was keeping them in the game is was hoping he would stop getting possesions

  1. Max dominated all day

  1. Melk

4. Clayton

3. Kosi

2. Tracc0

  1. Bowey

And to the person who said that Gardner kicked 4 on Max can I point out Gardner played at full forward and was never near Max.

6 Melksham - getting better with age, the difference between the two sides

5 Bowey - love to see the ball in his hands

4 Gawn - give him the Brownlow now!

3 Rivers - great link up man today, faultless performance

2 Oliver - worth votes just for the desperate knock on leading to Kozzie's goal

1 Petracca - his handballing was sublime and would have scored 6 but for his numerous fumbles

6 - The Captain

5 - Milkshake - what a great kick Jake is

4 - Jake Bowey sublime

3 - Trent Rivers - Riv is now where we expected him to be

2 - Clarry - Welcome back champ

1 - Tracca - Back to his best

Kozzie, Disco, Lingers, TMac, XL all stiff, a great team effort, our best game in a long time.

Bowey has got back to that (good) arrogant stage where he takes on kicks of all angles and nails them. He was good today. Again.

Rivers was great. Only played 88 min of game time though. I assume there’s a reason for that?

1 million votes: 4 qtr effort full of grit and heart.

6 Melksham

5 Kozzie

4 Bowza

3 Maxxy

2 Rivdog

1 Oliver (arguably Trac or Langdon get this position, but playing an unfamiliar role, and doing a good job on Neale, but also still getting involved in the game - and his desperate tap-on goal assist in particular, which we really needed, got him over for me. Great to see him working through form and looking happier)

Special mentions to: Trac, Langdon and Lindsay.

6: Bowey

5: Oliver

4: Melksham

3: Gawn

2: Pickett

1: Rivers

6 Chatanooga Choo Choo

5 Melksham

4 Max

3 Bowsa

2 Kossy

1 Tracc

6 Melksham

5 Oliver

4 Gawn

3 Petracca

2 Pickett

1 Rivers

  1. Melk - set the tone from the get go, clear winner over both opponents and stuck it right up em.

    1. Gawn - beat em at the drop, beat em at the bounce, beat em down the line and behind the ball.

      1. Pickett - 2nd best game for the year. Work rate was superb

        1. Clazz - 2nd efforts coming back along with a little more of his old "see ball get ball" instinctive ways

          1. Tracc - 2nd game where his Player Rating trumped his 2024 rating. Might have found his mojo & AFL level fitness again

            1. Bowza - another rock solid performance and his best season so far in the red & blue

Melksham - the forward we knew we needed

Rivers - had the he ball on a string

Gawn - great game, not much competition though

Bowey - Ace defender

Petty - superior in the air.

Mc Vee - sneaky good, catching up to Charlie so he rushed his kick was ace.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
