6 Maxy. what’s game.

5. Trac

4. XL. Excellent debut. Going to be a beauty for us.

3 Bowey

2. Salo

1. TMac  great replacement for May.

6 - Trac
5 - Gawn
4 - Lindsay
3 - Bowey
2 - Lever
1 - TMac

Really interested to see all the Salem votes. I thought his kicking was far too laid back and put us under unnecessary pressure.

Play May FF

6. Gawn

5. Petracca

4. Lindsay

3. Salem

2. Bowey

1. Lever

6. Trac

5. Gawn

3. Petty

2. Lindsay

1. Sparrow

Surprised with the love for Petracca ( although I do love him) but I thought he did some very un Petracca things today

Thought the mids cost us in the last.  They simply couldn't go with Toby Greene.  Over the entire game:

6. Gawn - dominated as you'd expect. 14 contested possessions

5. Lever - very sure and steady.  Looked like the AA version of himself

4. Petty - definitely a defender

3. Lindsay - an excellent game first up.  Absolute class

2. Petracca - played in bursts but did some great things

1. McDonald - as a late replacement I thought he was great.

Clarry was good up until the last, and I thought Sparrow was worthy of an honourable mention.  He got better as the game went on. Jack Viney had 27 disposals and only 9 were contested.  He is not the guy we want having the ball dished off to.

6. Gawn

5. Lever

4.Trac

3. Bowey

2. Lindsay

1. Tmac

Honourable mention to Sparrow, Windsor and Marsh

6. Gawn

5. Lindsay

Fantastic first up game from Lindsay and his disposal is superb

Swooper, I’m with you on those votes.

My thoughts

Tmac, Gawn, Lever, Windsor  and Petty

and one vote could go to any number of players. Rivers Salem XL Bowey sparrow tracca Oliver Viney or any of the new blokes  to my mind they all showed they could play.

6. Gawn

5. Petty

4. Lever

3. Petracca

2. Viney

1. TMac

Sorry to Bowey and Lindsay.

6. Salem

5.TMac

4 Petracca

3.Oliver

2.Lever

1.Sparrow

6 Those Irish dancers

5 Trac - Team oriented

4 Gawn - if he kicked one of those goals and his man didn't kick the winning goal he'd be bog

3 Sparrow - finally coming on like we always hoped he would

2 X - nice debut. Feeling very good about this pick after today. Classic JT taking someone so ultra competitive at the contest. Like Windsor you didn't expect it.

1 Bowey - best game in a long time

A good even team performance, which was great to see.

6.   Gawn  -  outstanding, as always
5.   Lever  -  a ‘rock’ in defence
4.   Petracca  -  still bleeds red & blue
3.   Salem  -   injury free, and showed why we’ve missed him
2.   T.Mac  -  seamless late addition
1.    Petty  -   back where he belongs

*  Bowey unlucky to miss out.

**  Plaudits to all our debutants, lead by Lindsay

The early signs are very promising!

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
