Heads continue to roll.

Out with the old and in with the new.

How significant is his departure? His area seems to be at the epicentre of everything that is going on.

From Ch 7.

Plunkett held key roles on the bench on matchday and once ran growth sessions — an idea formed by Goodwin — to help players and coaches create bonds and deepen relationships.

Initially the Demons’ general manager of people and culture, Plunkett later stepped up to become head of leadership, learning and development.

He has departed Melbourne to form his own leadership performance business, Telos Performance Partners, alongside former Melbourne assistant coach Greg Stafford and Adelaide Crows high performance boss Darren Burgess, who previously worked at the Demons.

I think Jim Plunkett did a good job initially. But perhaps his message got stale?

I assume this news is part of the external review happening.

Hopefully this opens the door to Jimmy Bartel and/or maybe Rory Sloan or even a Joel Selwood or a Luke Hodge taking on a leadership consultant role at the Demons?

Wildly ambiguous titles.

I wonder if I could be the clubs new General Manager of Dog Reiki and Paranormal Choreography?

Thanks for your efforts Jim and good luck with your future endeavours, you will be in good company with Burges and Stafford. You were all part of our 2021 Premiership.❤️💙

He became part of MFC folklore with his "Don't forget the Aeroguard Mr. Walker".

Based on his job title, you couldn't say he's earnt his pay over the past couple of years. May be the first casualty of the Football Department review.

Spot on!

My initial thought was Tautology with that title....

He found a niche in leadership consultancy after footy.  Somehow all the footy clubs bought his cool aid and he’s leadership roadshow travelled through the league and other bodies.  The Dees were his biggest fan and sponsor and we bought onboard for the people and culture development.  That was going well however strangely over the last 2 years, it is alleged we have a toxic culture.  Not sure how Plunkett has managed or been part of a solution or is part of of the problem.  Only internal people will ever know.  But we have to say thanks and good luck.  He’ll keep his leadership development mantra and march on.

Obviously had a huge impact

Move on please

It's essentially head of HR.

Well, according to one “journalist” this is yet another disaster for the club.

Melbourne’s dramatic 2024 year takes fresh twist as key figure reportedly quits

“Melbourne's tumultuous 2024 year continues to rear its ugly head as head of leadership Jim Plunkett has reportedly quit the club.”

Blimey. If such a thing as Aerogard still exists, could someone please get me a can to ward off the pestilence hanging over the club?

Goody's "allies" moving on is a good thing in my opinion. We need fresh faces who will challenge Goodwin and the Football Department.

And who knows whether Plunkett and Stafford left on their own accord, or whether they were given the tap on the shoulder, and resigned to save face.

All must have been moonlighting certainly not concentrating on their jobs

Management of this club is a joke in my view

Old jungle saying

Razor Ray blows his whistle

"Illegal disposal" ( dropping the ball )

Seems he had mates.

Is it we get blindsided as a club....  is the light dim..    or just us ??

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
