2023: Ben McKay, X Duursma, Taylor Adams, Brody Grundy

2022: Brody Grundy, Izak Rankine, Jason Horne Francis, Luke Jackson, Josh Dunkley, Tom Mitchell, Jacob Hopper, Taranto

2021: Adam Cerra, Jordan Dawson

2020: Adam Saad, Peter Wright, Treloar, Cameron, Daniher

Whether these guys are 'elite' or not is always up for debate

Some were involved in MFC trades, some were going home to other states, some have only come good after moving clubs, some have had setbacks, some are yet to fulfill their potential

The but the bigger question is would they have improved our list significantly? Even if we landed 2 or 3 of them?

I think so.

Putting the mess of Brody Grundy aside, we've been poor at trading in since Steven May came on board 6 years ago.

Are we on the nose?

Peter Wright would have been handy, the exact type of player we were searching for.

$500k a year, 23 years old at the time also. Would have suited us down to the ground.

Ben Brown came in and served us well for 2021 (premiership) massive when the whips were cracking and the next 3 years have been a complete struggle for him.

We knew about his knee history when taking him on, rolled the dice on 4 years and paid the price in 2022 and 2023 finals series.

Dees reportedly into waterman from WCE. Wants to stay at Eagles but is being lowballed.

Perfect if we can get him. Source FoxFooty The Tackle. Geelong also into him.

It would be amateur hour if our club aren't aggots deep into these two prospects.

I'd offer Waterman 800k over 5 years If that's the case 26 years old.

Would be tough to prize him out of WA though.

But King hasn't realised his potential yet. He played his best game against us this year kicking 4 goals.

Is there something in this?

Max is Victorian, better chance of landing him, at 23 y.o you would have to offer him a 8-10 year deal on par with our highest earners to prize him out of the Saints.

If his manager is Paul Connors we have a massive chance of Landing him.

On form you would go Waterman over King but it would be best to ask May and Lever who has been be the biggest headache for them.

We'd have two of the nastiest angriest key forwards with a JVR Waterman pair. Get it done Dees!

He’d be a great get but the reports state that he’s keen to stay at West Coast and that it’s actually him and his management who have raised the prospect of an extension

I’d be shocked if they didn’t come to an agreement by the end of the year or early next year

Having said that we’d be negligent not to throw a big offer his way to at least make him think about it!

West Couast could easy restructure and extend Waterman's contract to match offers from Victoria. Who else do they have to pay in the next couple of years? He's from WA and his dad played for West Coast.

Won't happen.

Is it possible that West Coast won’t have the money for Waterman if they want to sign Reid for 10 years? And remembering they have Oscar Allen he won’t be cheap.

Any more Reid money will be 2 years off and others will be leaving and they could front end Waterman a bit.

He won't leave, Eagles will get the deal done.

Isaac Cumming is an unrestricted free agent who I hope we are looking at. He would be a good replacement for Gus as that utility who can play halfback or on a wing.

Turns 26 in a few months so is in a good age bracket for us as well.

The thought of Clarry in another club’s colors makes me a little sick, but have a nagging feeling that this could gain momentum.

If he ends up anywhere and I sincerely hope he stays it will be GEELONG, A source close to the club Geelong who is a mate of mine has spoken to me re this🤯

The Bowey thing is interesting. Not from a StKilda perspective but there are a bunch of parents and families, particularly of the younger players, who are a bit unsettled re their respective son’s.

It doesn’t mean anything will eventuate but Bowey is an example of a player who fits the above profile and his old man still supports the Saints.

The young players at the MFC are unsettled? Really? They're all getting opportunities and most starting to show their wares.

I know some of them were a bit shellshocked after a big post West Coast bake, but I haven't heard anything about being unsettled...

I don’t think so Mr Schwartz.

Demented.

"Schwarta, what do you reckon? Would you like to cut off your right foot, but get a right foot from someone else?" "That sounds like a pretty good deal to me!" 🤦

Hahaha why would we trade a better version of a key forward?

Loved Schwartz as a player but he does talk a lot of garbage at times.

I think it’s more to do with the parents. I’ve not heard that it was/is a player(s).

It’s probably pretty normal but there’s plenty of smoke around us at the moment.

I’d rather Waterman. King needs to be rebuilt.

Schwarz is an awesome bloke and is a legend of the club but some of his observations aren’t the best.

I wouldn't trade JVR for any other key forward. He will only get better. Has mongrel and is a good kick for goal.

I sincerely doubt Clarry will go anywhere while Goody is coach. Besides we need more midfield grunt not less. Clarry loves the club and according to Richo the club has fallen back in love with Clarry. Just can’t see it happening.

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin
