It's just sad. No other superlatives to describe it, just really sad. For us, the fans that made the trip there, for the people who have to front up at work tomorrow, and maybe most importantly for themselves.

No-one wins. It's a damn shameย

That's not only season defining. It's era defining.

ย 100%.
And apart from the flag they played in another state during a season with no crowds and almost choked, the era's been a fail.
There are few clubs who can embarrass their supporters like ours.
Forken Goodwin bangin' on about earning respect ... My god.

We have a better list than most of the top 8 sides. We came into this season with the best defense in the league over the last 4 years, and a midfield with like 10 AA jackets, two coaches awards, and a Norm Smith.ย

Our list is certainly a LOT better than to lose by 90+ points to [censored] Fremantle!

We had a better list. We donโ€™t have it anymore. The Recruitment since โ€˜21 has been a Failureย

In theory, communism works too.ย

We have to play to our strengths. Speed, football IQ and skills is not it.ย

You won't win a GF with the old gameplan. We know that.

I'd rather fail miserably now trying than go out in straight sets against the fast ball moving sides

Nothing to do with Goodwin. Turnovers, contested possession, clearances ... all on the players. Though even there, we just don't have the cattle and there are players out there who are out of their depth.

Bing ol mate... I do understand where you'reย  coming from in that view.

As such the game is only played by those on the field...ย  ย but the mindsets and coaching, the instruction..ย  ย the fury, the indignation, the kicking of rectum..ย  ย  that's all Goodwin.

There is NO way on this earth he escapes responsibility.ย  None

I thought today was another whole big step down.

Has anyone ever changed their mission statement mid-season ? #DemonSpirit

We were a dirty thug and poor goal kicking away from making a prelim last year.ย
If you want to change the game plan you need to change the list. Canโ€™t do it with the same list.ย

If McAdam and Petty play next week I must seriously be watching a different game. Absolute trash again.ย

A seriously confused playing group headed by a coach who has made a mistake implementing a game style that doesnโ€™t suit the list.

I remember watching us kick the first 2 goals of the game against Hawthorn in 2015 to then get belted by 100pts. This was pretty much the same thing.

No team that has won their premiership has lost by >90 pts this century Iโ€™d say so please letโ€™s not have any, โ€œoh we can still win it bsโ€

A performance like this warrants an apology from the club.

Yeah, we lost momentum after letting Bedford walk tbh and Jackson leaving. Brayshaw a huge gap. Recruitment has been poor and the handling of Grundy isn't scrutinised enough.

Seriously? I was feeling [censored] up to reading this thread. Now I'm laugh my ^&*# off.

This for me too.

Incredibly disturbing when combined with Casey's form

No considering the Dockers arenโ€™t anywhere near going to be the eventual premiers this is way worse.

Dark days ahead with this list. The game has passed the list strategy byโ€ฆ

We're missing the general in that defense, May looks all at sea without him. As for the mids, no point living in the past. Oliver is half the player he has been for reasons we all understand, Petracca is having to play forward to make up for our lack of forwards, we've lost Brayshaw, so that leaves Viney - who needs those others around him. There were centre bounces today where we had Viney plus Sparrow and Neal-Bullen, not many AA's there.

I don't know how people can keep saying this, it's bordering on delusional. We have a few stars. After that ...

How do you explain 3 consecutive top 4 finishes and a flag the last 3 years. It takes more than a few stars to do that.

We may not be contenders, but no way should be delivering the level of performance we have been this year. I'm only guessing but something must be going on in the camp.

He gave us forward line depth. Our replacement is McAdam. We haven't replaced Bedford.

Who sets the strategy on recruiting & trading as they have back flipped on the 2 ruck & the Grundy disaster, this shows are they all aligned internally??? Trades that have come in have failed, apart from Hunter playing games who canโ€™t kick what have the rest done.. zero, we let Grundy, Jordan & Harmes go. Since gather round we have played poorly and defenders trying to be fwds has failed along with our clearances, continually getting beatenย

ย

Lost 3 of our last four and we look a listless bunch.

Cant see any miracles from here, they just donโ€™t have that desire and manic attack on the ball anymore.

We bowed out of finals in straight sets the last two seasons and this year we may not even make the 8!

Absolutely. The stats from today have such a large element of unreality that its difficult to fathom the issues given the talent on the list, albeit with gaps.

Pettyย  - 2 disposals,ย  Midfield crushed,ย  and we now indisputably know we have the poorest attack in the AFL.ย  Certainly not contenders, even with a win against the Pies next week.

Fascinating second half of the season to see the response, esp from the Match Cttee.

Worst fear is bottoming put as some here may suggest. Worst time in AFL history to be that posiiton with Tassie coming in to suck out the talent.ย  Think GWS/Suns nightmare for us 15 years ago.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
