Tickets to the KB game.

As a member with Away access I received an email from the club today saying as a ticketed event I would not be able to use my card but I could reserve a ticket.
There’s stuff all available. I guess that the CFC reserve the bulk of tickets as the Tigers did initially.

If you’re planning to attend and you don’t have MCC or AFL membership it’d be an idea to jump on to Ticketek and see what’s available. Very little I suspect (back rows of Southern and Ponsford and two bays on level one Northern).

There’s no level 1 availability, those two bays have wheelchair accessibility which is why they show up as available.

a thread was made weeks ago that this game was going to be sold out shortly.

So much for my premium membership giving me access to all home and away games. Firstly Pork Barrel Park was removed, then ANZAC eve (temporarily), Pies …. Bombers and Pies (again)?

Well not the Essendon and other Collingwood game because they are our home games and if you have premium membership I assume you have a reserved seat.

For MCC members I believe reserved seats and guest passes go on sale 28th of this month

Not surprised there are limited seats.   I purchased two reserved seats in late February when the earlier rounds were released

I understand the frustration but for games expected to have big crowds they don't have GA and the club communicated to members in February about purchasing tickets when the AFL opened everything up.

Make sure you look out for it next year!

All well and good, but I only want standing room (Southern stand) but I’m forced to pay for a seat. Like finals tickets, you’re only able to purchase a standing room ticket after all seats have been sold.

Having access to away games is being eroded more each year. First they scrapped entry to Kardinia Park, sold a game to the NT (no consolation getting free entry to the Hawks game as I already had that) and now more and more games are becoming ticketed. Fewer ‘free’ games but my premium membership goes up in price each year.

My tip for KB is 85k - similar to ANZAC eve when there was heaps of space, especially in standing room.

So wait for all seats to sell out. Will be end of the week and then they will put restricted view seats on sale. Buy one of those (will be very cheap) and just stand

Valid points about the standing room, and I agree about the premium membership.

I'm in redlegs and they give us an option to reserve a seat on Level 1 for free for the Hawthorn replacement homegame. I'd rather pay and extra $20 on my membership if needed and get a LVL 2 seat.

Why on earth do they call it a 16 game membership when there's at least one MCG game where I can't get in without coughing up more hard-earned ?

As ****ty as it is (and a lot of us still remember the days where we played in front of 19k at the g against interstate sides and a max of 45k against bigger Melbourne teams) it is the price we have to pay of being involved in a game that is on track to draw 88k+ people.

It does also say in the terms and conditions:

  • Additional fees and charges may apply with match access. Entry is subject to capacity and may not be guaranteed.

I can see a time in the near future where we can't get any access to this when it's Collingwood's home game. The AFL wants all memberships to be reserved seat memberships (like Essendon at Docklands) which would mean no access for opposition supporters.

I was happy to have a reserved seat membership, then they doubled the price by forcing you to pay for the grand final guarantee as well. If this is the desired future, they need to let people build their own packages.

Ultimately the club loses out, as evidenced by the sparsely populated reserved seat areas this season.

I have a reserved seat membership and I can’t get a ticket to this game. I needed to book back in Feb and pay a lot of money to get a somewhat decent seat. Considering my membership is almost $700 a year, that’s not good enough IMO. But I understand this isn’t on the club. Collingwood has a lot of members and they get priority at their home games.

No doubt about it. And then scalping will be on the cards again.

Then they should call it "up to 16 games membership". Be up front and honest rather than use the fine print to disclaim

But I get your point about being relevant in front of large crowds, that is very true

I have an opportunity to go, unfortunately it is right in the middle of the Collingwood Members, (I did this a couple of years ago and was only person wearing red up that end), this year I might politely decline considering I'm not sue if I could contain myself anytime that No 4 goes near the ball, and it could get very ugly.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int
