Was wearing special protection, I noted?

I thought he looked hampered in the first half, and then played one of the best last quarters you’ll ever see from an inside mid.

I’ll back him in, even with one hand.

wonder what he had for breakfast Ch 7?

It was really obvious at times before and after the game last night how much he was favouring the hand. Didn’t shake right hand after game, avoided using the hand in warm ups. Hopefully he gets through Thursday ok.

I would rest him this week if there is any real problem - and it seems that there is. The Adelaide mids are not threatening. He is too valuable to risk.

I would say that in order to get the tick of approval to wear the hand guard, he would need scans to show the AFL he needs it. And of course they would need to check that playing with the injury is not going to cause further or permanent damage, and it’s just about pain management.

We absolutely need him against Brisbane, so I would make that game a priority and give him a rest against Adelaide if it’s a case of one or the other.

I propose the collection to be auctioned off at the Best and Fairest. Quite an artistic piece, really. Turn them into a photobook; each one with match details and a highlight photo on the opposite page of the magic hands at play.

Can they get a premiership cup into one of those scanners?

With a short break, I’d consider giving him a week off and prepare him for Brisbane. We have good depth, Sparrow and Salem could cover his midfield time. Kossie also an option with AMW to come in for his debut.

Public service announcement.

A segment on Tom Hawkins follows the Clayton Oliver piece. Viewer discretion is advised.

If it’s not getting worse then he’s still better than whoever would come in to replace.

Yes i agree with this... bring Sparrow & Kozzy's CBAs up.  Maybe bring in Moniz to take some of the Kozzy forward minutes and to give him a taste at the top level.

Yep  rest .... great move😍

I wrote in the post match thread he's my favourite demon ever but i wanted him subbed off because he was only clearly playing with one hand until he just did what he does in the last quater.

He wasn't right.

I reckon if we subbed olhim off we would have lost.

I hope he's ok.

Maybe rest him against the Crows

He was not quite right against Port but still dominated in the last quarter. Not sure we would have won without him.

Can't take the Crows lightly. When do we ever have an easy game against them at AO? They'll be getting the blowtorch treatment all this week so will come out fighting. It's going to be a tough game.

Clarry has to and will play.

First scan post the Port game is in…

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
