Heads will surely roll! Fellow Demonlanders, care to cast a crystal ball on this??

Both the coach and the Pres should step down. However I seriously doubt we will miss the 8, so nothing to worry about.

If we don’t win a final though, Goodwin must be held accountable. I’d also be looking at a change in on-field leadership. We have failed to finish top 4 the past 2 years, a serious underachievement given the quality of players we have at the moment (almost like how it would be a failure if Brisbane don’t win a flag with the players they have atm).

You’ve said this a few times now. When we speak of Top 4 it’s always been about the end of the H & A season. We haven’t failed to finish top 4 the last two seasons. Position after finals is irrelevant.

We have strengthened our forward half not including organic growth in existing kids, we have added run and carry and retained and strengthened our backline. Only bad luck and severe injuries will stop us, 2024 is a Premiership year for the Dees.!!!

I'll as usual reserve my view until Round 6. Last year we performed better in the first half of the season than I anticipated. In the second half we seemed to plateau and then lost all semblance of a forward line in the last few weeks. Can we find that extra gear (loading aside).

Tracc and Oliver plus perhaps Kozzie are the key

If we miss the 8 there will be a reason. If we finish around 6th it could just be bad form, the gameplan and luck.

Interesting to see this kind of political strategy appearing on football forums.

It's kind of like sealioning... maybe could be called 'wolf-crying'.

THERE'S A WOLF!

No, there isn't.

WELL, IF THERE'S NO WOLF, EXPLAIN WHY EVERYBODY IS TALKING ABOUT WOLVES? WOLF COVER UP! WE KNOW THE TRUTH! THERE'S A WOLF!

I'd say the opposite. Ladder position is irrelevant. Finals is the real stuff and when the proper season starts. We have a finals system to determine the winners and placers. Minor premiers are meaningless. We have failed to finish top four two seasons running. We've [censored] the bed and are wasting our premiership window.

If we fail again next year, I expect significant changes to senior coaches and onfield personnel and leaders. Otherwise we become Port Adelaide who keep resigning Hinkley as coach and never achieve any success.

Spin it which ever way you like. All I’m saying is we have finished top 4 the last two seasons.

I’m of the opinion that the real season begins in September. They don’t award the premiership cup to the team that finishes the H&A ladder in first

1. If we miss the 8, then Goody is 80/20 to go. Possible leadership and footy Dept changes. A fair bit of list turnover as well.

2.If we make the 8 and don't win a final then Internal Footy Dept Review and Goody is 50/50 to go.

3.If we make top 4 and straight sets, External Footy Dept review and Goody is 60/40 to go,

4.If we make a PF+, then Goody stays.

Pass mark: Play in a GF.

I think we aren’t on the same page here. We are all of the opinion the real stuff begins in September and I’m well aware of how our last two finals campaigns have us winless.
Let me ask you this, how do you get the double chance at the end of the H&A?

A couple of teams will drop out of the 8 in '24.    Saints and Port?

With our list and better luck with injuries we should finish with 15 or 16 wins. Could be pretty tight next year at the top end.  Dont see Pies and Lions (tough draw)  dominating..

Sure and what do the stats say gives you the best chance going into finals? Finishing top 4. As we have done. 3 years running.

We'll just draft a unicorn ruck, a future hall of fame small forward and an elite running half back and win the flag in 2026

If Kyah Farris-White develops superhuman speed and flight this preseason then he'll probably win the Brownlow.

Am I doing this right?

Who knows what is really going on at the club. There is a real chance we could drop out of the 8 as there is we could go close to winning it.

I really wonder what happened with the girls side. Relevant to the men at all or not ?????

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
