They obviously donโ€™t rate Petty that much.

ย

$1 million dollars for his first season and $800k per season after that (going by reports), and you offer pick 14.. If you believe Petty is that important to you, pay up.

If his foot holds up he will have more trade value than he does now but i hope he stays, more valuable to us than draft picks.

If his foot is being held up he can't kick and his trade value drops surely?

Rule of trade radio club: we must have something to talk about.... quick grab Tom or Kaneย

ย

Petty will be a Restrictred Free Agent when he comes out of contract in 2025, at which time, based on the current compensation calcualtions for tall defenders... we should get Pick 1, Pick 2 and exclusive fishing rights in the Bass Strait for 20 years.

Something tells me this is still in play.

Still bitter over Lever clearly

If we can get the necessary picks to satisfy WCE for pick 1, reckon we trade him

Or they were discussing the McAdam trade

Maybe we should try the old 'sorry Adelaide, it's not you, it's us' trick.

Blame the victim? No way.ย

We need to say โ€˜[censored] offโ€™ and โ€˜if you come near my little Harry again, I will call the cops.โ€™

Just block their number.

Although we may need to stay at our sister clubs houseโ€ฆ Perth Demons? Stay in Perth for a bit? Are people following the metaphor? I can stop now?

It was BS. They were both at a Connor's Sports breakfast

Was getting worried to see this thread with a high post count today. Had a huge sigh of relief when it's all come from Kornes.

This guy will advise us to move him on this year then have a crack at us next year for poor list management when we have no key position depth. If he moved, he will then claim it as further evidence of poor club culture. Guy is a click bait parasite.

And I'm not even sure about the click bait bit.

Justin Reid has now threatened to go on a hunger strike if we don't trade Harry Petty to the Crows.ย

Iโ€™m ok with that.

It's disappointing all this. Petty was to be our key pillar for the next ten years. He's won a flag with us, we drafted him in the second round and have developed him very well. I guess Adelaide could say a similar thing of Lever, but this is a problem for us list management nevertheless.

I hope we can change his mind and get him a KPF partner for 2025.

Recruiting quality interstaters poses a riskโ€ฆ weโ€™ve lost Hogan, Jackson, Thompson, the Wiz, maybe Petty and others in my lifetime.

Not saying you donโ€™t recruit kids from interstate (there are plenty that stay) but people on here fascinated with the idea of the two Tassie boys at the top end of this yearโ€™s draft - I canโ€™t see anything but a lose/lose outcome from a Deesโ€™ perspectiveโ€ฆ the lure of representing their stateโ€™s first ever side (+ the $$$) will be far more powerful than Harry Petty wanting to return to the city where he went to boarding school and where his sister plays netball.

Conor McKenna has just told Brisbane that he wants to go home again because the Guinness here doesn't taste the same (true) and the last food parcel from home went missing in transit so he's run out of Barry's Tea.ย

They only drink Barryโ€™s tea in Munster, McKenna being from Ulster Iโ€™d hazard a guess would be a Lyons Tea man

The Tayto Crisps didn't arrive either. Cheese and onion flavour. there's no substitute. very upsetting for him.

If Adelaide are looking to re-mortgage the house to get Petty it might be worth a look. Petty might start to lose interest (and form) if he stays and is earning significantly less cash (the what if factor). Hawthorn won two premierships after buddy left, I don'tย  think too many saw that coming. As per Roosy's stance back in his day at the Dees, if they want out we are not gonna force them to stay. That is if he actually decides he wants out, which he may not... Gonna be an interesting turn of events...

What evidence do you have that Petty isnโ€™t happy to stay and play for Melbourne?ย
If he doesnโ€™t come out and ask for a trade then heโ€™s clearly very comfortable and committed to stay.ย

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
