Corey Norris 9 news  - throwing Petty up as a swap is absolutely laughable. Is that guy actually serious? If I was his boss I’d sack him for stupidity.

Yet another example of the media pile on of disrespect for the MFC. Regardless of what happens this finals series, I hope we absolutely nail this draft/trade period and have a Geelong like decade-long window of premiership contention.

Exactly. Why don’t they just go for broke and trade him to Collingwood for one of their premiership defenders?

Oh wait…

I was just driving home from work when Andrew Jarman on radio suggested Harry Petty would be a fair trade. I almost killed my accelerator.

Adelaide might get petty with this trade, it won’t be Harrison however.

For a hack that can barely get a game in a bottom side.  And has left taking everyone down with him.  He screams of poor attitude to me.

Complaining about the fitness and medical program but wants to come to the club that has a system in place constructed by the same guy (burgess).

AVOID!!

AFAIK his "complaining" came about because he was instructed to run through hamstring awareness and tore it. I can see how that would be annoying.

I've noticed his marking and great leap.  Hopefully he can have a Tyson Stengle type impact for us

He equalled NicNats vertical jump record when he was at the combine.... so yeah, not a bad leap.

should go well in our forward line competing with Tmac Fritta Kozie and Gawn

So    for those that know

If we get this bloke does that mean we no longer look at Liam Henry or do we get LH to go to Casey ?

Pretty sure Henry has nominated the Saints

After watching some highlights as a way to pass the time, besides the obvious great leap his ability to get the ball off the ground is nice and he seems to apply pressure and chase well, two things we desperately need as BBB and TMac have aged and Milk effectively out all of next year. I think this will be similar to the Lachie Hunter acquisition where he may not be an A grader but will play his role well and allow us to fill a hole for relatively cheap. He also has better upside than Hunter in a position we need.

Im pretty sure hes a FA.

I don't think players will be invoived in this deal unless we are offering goodwill to someone ie Harmes/Tommo

A forward line JVR, Petty, Smith, McAdam, Fritsch plus smalls Kosi, Chandler, ANB, Spargo reads ok

Yes, but only if we can get all of those on the park consistently, esp for finals.

Still think we are one tall, competative forward short, ie. not Schache or Grundy. Jefferson is a long way off, if at all

Burgo building more resilience…

He’s a natural forward in his prime that replaces Melksham. Takes pressure off Fritsch with his ability to mark and with Pickett to be at the fall of the ball.

Zero Hanger reporting that Harrison Petty could be used in a trade deal! Adelaide into him evidently.

Not sure their reporting Petty could be part of the deal but Adelaide would like Petty as part of the deal. Given our shortage of key position players I think there is close to zero percent chance Petty is traded.

There is just no way we part with Petty unless he is telling us he wants out, and even then I reckon we will say no as he’s contracted.
Crows have no choice but to come to the party. McAdams is uncontracted.

Trade Petty to Adelaide. I simply can't believe this. Its so [censored] stupid I feel like wetting myself.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
