I love the apathy on here for this bloke. Are people insane?

All Australian and 5th in the brownlow, inside outside runner who racks them up. Not a great kick ? so you dont rate Clarry, Brayshaw and Petracca then.

Has averaged over 30 possies last 3 years in his prime at only 26 years old.

The only argument is around balance. He is absolutely a quality midfielder.

I remember this forum in 2019. Balance was the major talking point for our on field issues. We addressed our issues via trade (Langdon) and drafting of course (Kosi, LJ) - but I do think things can go south very quickly when you try and fit a few square pegs into round holes, the team dynamic suffers and the flag/finals can suddenly get out of your reach when you gather some momentum in the loss column.

Club might be concerned about our lack of midfield depth, particularly if all of Dunstan, Harmes amd Jordon all move on.

I dont mind him as a player but cant help but feel there would be better ways to use 5x6-700k

Once we land Reid he can play mid minutes

As much as he is a quality player now, I think getting Parish would clog our pipeline of development for younger players. At the same time, I don't think he'd be able to take on the physical load the way Viney exemplifies and Oliver and Petracca also do so well, so wouldn't even be contributing to that 'protection' factor either.

So from my perspective, Parish doesn't offer enough 'value over the alternative' to justify stalling the process of giving Rivers more time in the middle, for example.

Winchelsea lad so the Cats would be all over him given their slim draft picks.
If he’s a FA then that only amplifies the possibility of him going to Geelong.

I'd put my faith in the football department drafting a quality mid rather than forking out for Parish.

Maybe I'm on my own, but I don't mind this at all.

He's a massive accumulator of the footy so we'd have no issues generating clearences and and getting first hands on the footy.

Does this free up the likes of Oliver and Petracca to spend even more time up forward so they're not crashing and bashing their bodies?

He comes free without giving up a draft pick up.

He's an All Australian midfielder as well so there's certainly class and talent there.

I wouldn't say no, but I also wouldn't go in selling him the world, because the reality is he probably won't get a regular gig in our senior side, and he will at about 15 other clubs.

He looks like a man-child. It’s a no for me.

That's a good list management strategy there, Ethan. 😉

Well there you have it, looks like we tied up all the loose ends.

He read this thread !

Probably jealous we picked Clarry over him.

Still bitter he could have been a premiership player instead of still not winning a final.

I don't think we shold pretend we'd have won a flag with Parish instead of Clarry.

it's got nothing to do with his kicking being bad and our current mids kicking being bad as why we wouldn't go after him due to his skillset and more the fact that he doesnt offer anything differential to what we have in that position currently. as many have said we need some cream not more scone

I’m hoping for a taller more skilled mid to compliment our three amigos, someone that can win his own ball but also hit up a forward on the move. Someone a bit like Trent Rivers mk11.!!

Good. He’s a stat chaser and he’s soft and that club needs to spend another 19 years chasing a finals win.
