Jeelong rumoured to be interested in acquiring the services of Smith who has regressed this year at the Dogs - could we get in on the act?

We have the picks, we have the Lachie Hunter, and we have the need for speed

Contracted til '24

No thanks. He can't kick. We have enough of those.

Besides, Geelong get what Geelong want. Wonder if Bailey wants a hobby farm.

No from me

Bailey Smith might leave the Bulldogs for the same reason as Dunkley left and went oop north to the Lions. Wasnt Smith left out of the team recently?   The Bevo factor.   Doesnt matter if he's contracted till 24.

Grundy was contracted with Pies till 27.   Geelong will offer him a lifestyle change if they havent already.

Brace for impact doggies.

I don’t think coca plants grow out Geelong way…

English to Meth Coke

Grundy to Foot-is-grey in swap for Smith (Footcray pay 50 percent)

Jackson, Flogmantle, to Melbourne ([censored] pays 50 percent)

Ummm... yeahhh..  NAHHH !!!

His marketing value far exceeds his football value, No from me.

Apparently upset because he’s being played out of his preferred position. He’d have no hope in our stringent system

the most overrated player in the game

mr flashy. mr super star, mr ice in his veins

I'd only bring him into the team if Hunter and Langdon shear him

Absolutely! I suspect the weight of his mullet is also throwing out his kicking leg.

A bit of a point of difference you reckon

Would take him in an instant as long as we didn't pay the farm.

His marketing value for our club alone would be worth it. And he is a gun at top flight.

Whilst his kicking is left to be desired at times, his gut run and speed is a huge point of difference.

Big moment player and I could see him, Trac and Oliver tearing teams apart.

Would happily have him.

Has turned into the ultimate seagull.

He can jog on down to Corio Bay.

I can’t believe the negativity on here.  If the price is right then it’s a 100% yes.

What’s the right price for a player we don’t really have use for?
We need to concentrate on getting a forward.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
