Good to be back on our fortress lol.

Zero expectation today. We should win but I've lost trust. I want to see lace out passes to a leading forward but Ross will not let this happen. He will love it if we repeat our standard F50 entries.

If we do more of the same we lose this game. A lot rides on the coaches box tonight.

I just want to watch an enjoyable game, there’s a reason Pies fans are turning up by the boatload to watch their club.

It doesn’t have to be all out attack but wouldn’t mind seeing us give a handball receive every now and then

i can't work out where ga seating is at marvel tonight. the marvel site and ticketmaster are hopeless for ga seating and it seems to vary depending on event. i believe there is supposed to be some near the goals on l1 with most on l3. trying to avoid wasting time wandering around that cold concrete jungle.

so, does anyone know or have a link

Just to get a win would be nice

will not be wet or slippery.  Cold probably

but if we cannot beat the saints tonight then we can beat time to music.

very pessimistic and why not !

I shall be watching this epic from the balmy confines of The Manor surrounded, naturally, by canapés and matching beverages.

I simply hate Darklands and will not view football from that hole.

Certainly looking forward to young Woey's debut and wish him well. On the other hand, I'm not sold on our forward set up and am most interested to see if we can straighten up - in all senses.

The aints , however, are going to have their own forward issues when confronted with Messrs May, Lever etc.

Dees by 27. Three Brownlow votes to Trac.

We’ve won 8 of our past 11 and 4 of our last 5 at Marvel. With the injuries the Saints have, and all the pressure on us during the week, I’m expecting a 5 goal win.

Marvel is actually pretty convenient for me as I live on the west side so I’m making the trip tonight to the soulless stadium.

Marvellous is better at least than kitty litter park... just sayin'

My problem is we've only picked one key forward who we're not sure whether his knee will hold up or not.

I'm worried we won't be able to keep them under our score of 4.28.52

I can't answer your enquiry dc but I will caution you on the likelihood of altitude sickness !

I'm off to marvel tonight. Don't think I've been there since covid came in.

Do people realise Children get in free tonight

We are under the roof so no excuses not to kick straight.

I really have no expectations tonight. I have no idea what melbourne will show up.

Just hope it's the melbourne that gets us the 4 points.

Out of form defensive Dees v Ross Lyons coached team = 0.5% chance of an "enjoyable" game.

This game will not be one for the purists.

In fairness, we only had a 19 yr old key forward one out for a while and we were winning.

Ben Brown will turn it on tonight

Melky playing 100 games for the MFC today, well done mate! your early career with us was sensational and were one of my favourite forwards to watch. Congrats to Salem on 150 as well.

Certainly hope you're right.

I'm just eyeballing it but if you look at our win-loss ratio for the two phases of our accuracy this season it is almost the same as the goals-behinds ratio.

I was going to say something about it not being quote as 'simple as that' but it doesn't get much simpler than;

More goals = more wins

More behinds = more losses

And it's more thanthat as well because every point kicked keeps the opposition in the game

By failing to kill games early we make it harder for ourselves because the oppo stays in games longer with a sniff of winning

You look at our team:

- Backline looks fantastic,

- Mids even with Oliver out, still looks incredibly strong, like seeing Rivers in the mix,

- Forward line, not as strong, still Kozzie a top small forward, time for BBB, Spargo & Melksham to shoot the lights out with accuracy, and big Maxy and Grundy kick at least one goal each.

Best of luck to young Woey all reports indicate he is highly skilled, if he can deliver could quickly tie up a spot in the 22!

Headed to the Marvel morgue tonight, hoping to see Demons salute!

Go Demons.

If this was at the G it would be another wet weather game, over our sub-par performances there are no excuses for not kicking straight tonight or not winning contested overhead marking

I’ll be pleasantly surprised if we win the team just looks so lost in the forward 50 at the moment….will be there of course though

All top deck usually. Or at least top deck behind each goal.

I got $10 tickets thru the Demon Army which is level 1 wing, for those not wanting to sit on the top level. Also good cause to support our friend @WalkingCivilWar 😉
(It’s for the seat only you still need a ticket or membership to get in)

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
