Adjudication;

Acceptable in terms of balance, no obvious howlers, consistency of decision making still needs work. Pass mark except for Umpire Stevic, Toby Greene has my vote.

Broadcaster;

BT is an unimaginative partisan [censored] his true colours ‘black and white’  were to the fore during the filth’s last momentum surge. Nanthan Jones was somewhere in the mix.

Opposition hyperbole watch;

Mason Cox is an absolute PRAT game over and still acting like a YANK. Brayden Maynard had the good grace to be sporting in defeat.

From the director’s chair;

In an effort to get the goal kicking sorted, Choco’s Goal Kicking Academy will be running school holidays’ classes this bye. Final score margin flattered Collingwood massively.

6 Viney - is this his best season?

5 Salem - 9 intercept possessions, 10 marks, 24 disposals. He was back to his best today.

4 Hunter - I thought he was particularly important to cut the Pies run and width options. Early on they tried to drag us out of the corridor by overlapping wide, waiting for us to chase and then cutting back. Hunter was critical in stopping that, and was damaging going the other way.

3 McVee - I thought he had such a major influence on this game, through impacting contests, one on ones etc. Particularly early. Only 11 disposals (7 from intercepts) but it was the contests he won that was so crucial for us.

2 Fritsch - but kicked 3/8 goals and kept Darcy Moore accountable.

1 Rivers - continuing a fine season. Bobs up everywhere, intercept marks, long kicks. Today his short kicking game was significantly improved as well.

Lots of options for the last couple of votes. Tomlinson was good. Petracca used his strength all day. Joel Smith was important forward. And Langdon was tireless on the other wing.

Very glad to see Hunter in people's votes. Because he's a new player and not a long term Dee people on here have been way to quick to slag him. Absolute gun.

Great to see Tomlinson amongst most DLanders votes. He was very good today. Solid defensive effort. Good marks.  Hit targets by hand and foot.  Had the height and physical nature to play on Cox and Cameron. Allowed May to play on Mihocek.

2. Petracca (disagree with The Age that called him "ineffectual". I thought his ability to extract the contested ball and stand up when tackled went a long way toward us winning)

1. Neal-Bullen (spent a lot of time successfully minding N Daicos early and then used his power running in the last quarter to cause huge problems for the Pies)

I notice that a lot of people have given votes to Hunter and Rivers. I thought Hunter made too many simple disposal errors. Rivers was probably unlucky not to get a vote from me. But so were Grundy, McVee and Brayshaw (after a dodgy start)

Love being right in terms of where I think we are at, primed for this one! Kick straight and its a 6-8G win!!!

All duck, no dinner -- Ed was spot-on and the playing group was eager to show it, despite nearly costing themselves. Expected score must of been 90-50 type stuff surely...

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

    Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

    Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

    THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

    Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
