Softest contact sport in the world.

NRL here I come.

It will be near unwatchable in another 5 years. Slowly but surely sucking any ounce of physicality out of it.

Honestly what is Hunter meant to do there?

Competing for the ball is now reportable (apparently)

Accidents happen and that should just be a high contact free kick and that's the end of it

Really cheap free and goal to finish that quarter. Would have all but ruled Port out but they will take something from that. Gonna be a tight one

Butters has irritated me tonight with his nerdy and punchable face. Would love him in red and blue, kid can play.

As the newly minted 4th quarter specialists I’m looking forward to us continuing our good work from q3 and ignoring that late goal.

Grundy didn’t get in to the field of play. McDonald didn’t get off the ground and who knows where Lever was for that. Not a great effort for a ball that probably could’ve been touched with the perfect run and jump

Love for that to continue. Port will surely come back with a bit of fire.

port player ran shoulder first in the melbourne player on the line to keep him out of play no free. that holding man is a disgrace all night long people have been holding and dropping the ball and all of a sudden the ump pulls that our of his butt. Why can we not play like we did in the third quarter for four quarters. hopefully they have got up enough steam to keep going in the last to finish port off.

Never wanted to win a game so much.

If we win I'm streaking

Look out Northern Wollongong.

We won some clearances. Hit targets. Marked. Got numbers to the ball. Hunted in packs and stuck our tackles.

It's like someone hit the on button.

He’s brilliant. And he must smell horrific or have Covid, because nobody wanted to get near him 🙄

Good quarter, they started hearing footsteps.

Tracc and Oliver played as a team.

We out worked Lycett.

Now to drive it home, keep our intensity and limit the pressure on the backline.

Rivers, getting better and better.

That was epic lads. Super super QTR.

Trac got his wack & responded.

Centre Clearance wins!

& how about this boy Rivers tonight good lord!!!

You don't win many games of footy against top line oppos on one decent quarter.

One more 'big boy pants' quarter!

I love this club but boy our Jekyll and Hyde, atrocious and brilliant, sloppy and excellent patches in games is killing me. We were brilliant that quarter.

One heck of a last quarter coming up.

You've got to be joking me

Technically it was there like about 80 others not paid this match in the rain. Rivers holding on didn’t actually impede the player who was going no where in that scrimmage but you know give the umps half a chance.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
