On a side note, XT came down to a function at East Ringwood Football Club last night. He was very respectful, happily signing autographs and taking photos for the budding 8-15 year olds. I asked him how he was going at the club, said he is loving it, and the vibe is they are playing with a bit more freedom compared to what he heard under Goody. I’m 178cm, and he towered over me. I certainly had him for weight, reckon he may have me for skill and speed. I was certainly impressed how he handled himself coming back to his junior club, where his whole family have been involved. Think we have a good one ☝️

This delivery into the forward line is like we are getting coached by Goodwin again!!! Wake the F up!!!

Went along today, and just as @Swooper1987 said, was a very even contribution from all. I was most excited about how composed the backline was today, especially Tholstrup and Howes. Both Kozzie and Latrelle spotting up teammates in the forward 50. Love it. Previously Kozzie would’ve pinged away, he has matured into a team player these last 2 years. Sharp is surprising us all, doing team things, bobbing up for goals. Keep it up Kingy, we are loving it 🥰

My first game for the year, going with 8 year old son. Extra interest as Xavier Taylor is from our local club East Ringwood, goes to show you don’t need to be from private school background to make it. Hope he has a cracker, along with Moose 🫎 Oh and if Cameron can kick 10, surely Jeffo can too? Eh Pickett? 🤞

Soft underbelly as usual, this is why our membership and supporter base is one of the lowest. Players probably got ahead of themselves. Would rather have lost to Gold Coast and won today. My wife supports Hawks, both kids have followed her team, and I can’t blame them. Essendon bent us over (again), the footy media will be saying same old Melbourne. I don’t mind losing, just hate how we rolled over and showed no fight. It’s so disheartening following this club. Ugggh!!!

Looking forward to watching Sam Grlj. I thought he was a chance to come to us, loved his run and carry in highlight package.

I find Jeffo is the type of player that waits for the game to come to him, rather than taking the game on. I wish he’d want to rip his opponents head off, seems too nice a bloke to do that. We are crying out for a great forward, needs to take his chances otherwise he’ll be playing VFL or suburban footy next year.

I’m going to sound old here, but he is very young to already have tattoos . Good on him for his individuality amongst his peers at a very early age. I can’t remember the last draftee who had tatts. It’s a good sign people, this kid runs his own race 🏃‍♂️

So we draft Latrelle who looks like he’s at least 30. Then we draft Matthews who looks like he’s 13. Go figure 🤷

Went along too. Very even game throughout, it was anybody’s game. Difference was North took their chances in the last, converted 2 goals within 2 minutes, then it was goodnight. Great atmosphere, 7000 spectators, very friendly crowd, no animosity between each other (in my area anyway).

I wonder why Sam Grlj dropped down a few rungs? The Hawks will love him if it drops that way. I thought his highlight package looked exciting.

JT and the draft team will be no doubt in discussions on who to pick, with pros and cons for a number of players, with input from Kingy too. All I know is whatever 2 players we pick at 7 & 8 have to be stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️, including Nairn. No pressure JT, just get it right 🙏 🙏 🙏

Just watched highlights, he reminded of Friitta with his movement and left foot. I’d have others before him. I’d personally pick Grlj over him any day, much more evasive and attacking.

Ghosty I don’t mind the number changes, but was kinda hoping that Harvey and XL would’ve made 19 and 20 their own. Anyway…….
